Description

The torsion HPC app calculates the torsional stress and angle of twist for a solid bar. The user can modify the cross section and specify both the shear modulus (G) and the applied torque. The stress is calculated using classical finite element method at the engineering HPC (High Performance Computing) cluster at the University of Oklahoma. The user can set the level of accuracy up to 230,000 degree of freedom. Since the calculations are not done on the local iPad or iPhone, the solution is completed in seconds. The app requires network connection so the app can communicate with the HPC server. There are no ads.

Version 1.1 allows the grid to be scaled for smaller a cross section. Various minor operation issues were updated.
