Description

14+6=20, 30+70=100 are some of the number bonds to 100.
Does your child know them all? Are they confident with them?

Aimed at children from the age of 5 Number Bonds Two will give your child the practice they need to become secure and confident in this fundamental area of maths.

Number Bonds Two is a natural progression from Number Bonds which is aimed at children from the age of 3. A free Lite version of Number Bonds is now available in the app store.

Developed under the guidance of an experienced Early Years and KS1 teacher this application is fun and easy for your child to use. The teaching approach mimics proven methods used in the classroom and splits numbers into 0-20 (+/-) and 0 to 100 (+/-). Your child can focus on a specific area of maths as they progress through the different levels.

To gently introduce a little competition (and extra fun!) the game level allows you and your child to take the Number Bonds challenge. Now this is where it can get embarrassing but don't worry we have included a reset facility for the leader board!

There are many ways used by teachers to make learning number bonds fun. This application enhances the work done in schools. It gives the child a fun non -threatening environment in which to practice. Children enjoy repetition, this application enables children of a young age to practice, repeat and try out their new found skills. Securing number bonds at an early age gives children number confidence as they progress through school.

WHY ARE NUMBER BONDS SO IMPORTANT?

Knowing number bonds to 10 i.e. which 2 numbers go together to make 10 is one of the learning objectives taught throughout KS1 in primary schools.

Having a secure knowledge of number bonds enables a child to begin to be able to recognise patterns in numbers and the number system which they will build on and use later in their mathematical progress. For example a child who knows that 2+8 =10, very quickly will be able to see how 12+8 =20 or 20+80=100, 200+800 = 1000 and so on.

In the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) before children become familiar with written numbers they are able to see patterns of numbers. As they develop their ability to count objects they begin to see how numbers go together in patterns.

One press of a button and your child will be practicing and developing their number bonds to 100, skills which underpin so much of their mathematical skills and development for the future.
