Fortune-telling systems are numerous and to say that one is the best would be incorrect. They differ mainly in external features while internal content remains the same. Therefore, to choose one’s own system totally depends on person’s taste and cultural attitudes.
We offer you fortune-telling with the Chinese Book of Changes (I-Ching). Origin and initial meaning of the book is mysterious, but one knows that it has been used as oracle for millennia.
The essence of fortune-telling is to get an answer to a question by tossing coins.
To tell fortune you must be calm. In the East fortune-telling is a form of meditation, therefore, your mood, time and place must be proper to divert your mind from usual way of reasoning, hesitations and anxieties.
The main thing here is to formulate a question. The more precise the question is, the clearer the answer will be. As they rightly say, a question formulated correctly already has half of an answer.
Formulating a question is pure psychology. There’s no magic; it’s just a manipulation aimed at moving aside common thoughts with all the hesitations and contradictions. And only when composure is achieved, a question is precisely formulated, then fortune-telling begins. In case with the Book of Changes traditional procedure of choosing necessary hexagram is difficult enough, therefore to present it here is of no use.
The final stage of fortune-telling is interpretation of the answer. Good oracle never gives direct answers and the correct interpretation is chosen on the basis of inner associative reaction. That is, fortune-telling tool – be it I-Ching hexagram or coffee grounds – is of no importance. The main thing is that it must be convenient for you to use.
