HealthCareUK is a comprehensive information App that helps to put you in control of your healthcare.

The App is intended to deliver information in a wide spectrum of topics and mediums from the United Kingdom National Health Service, a driving force in the world health arena.

The app delivers up to date, dynamic and relevant News Articles on all things health, an A-Z of hundreds of conditions, topics and articles on Lifestyle (Living Well), hundreds of questions and answers to relevant and sometimes embarrassing topics. The app also delivers hundreds of health related videos from real patients, covering topics such as Cancer, Stopping Smoking, Mental Illness to name a few. The app also covers a list of dynamic services in your location within the UK such as GP’s, Dentists, Pharmacists, and Opticians and presents them on map with direct telephone and web links from a single tap. On the 3GS an augmented reality view of these services is overlaid on the video screen.

You may save any article or service for offline viewing by simply shaking the iPhone or iPod Touch, you will be presented with a save menu and then you may access all your saved articles from the main screen.

The app is split into the following categories:

Videos: Hundreds of health related videos on conditions and general health topics.

Services: A dynamic and graphical view of your surrounding services in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales with an Augmented Reality view for 3GS users.

Saved Articles: A fully editable list and access to your favourite articles for offline viewing.

First Aid Guide: An offline lite version of a First Aid Guide covering topics such as Burns and Scalds, Choking, Poisoning, Electricity, Drowning, Bleeding, Nosebleeds, Heart Attack, Stroke, Fractures and Anaphylactic Shock.

News: A dynamic and relevant up to date article viewer on Medical and Health News, conveniently split into topics such as Cancer, Diabetes, Food & Diet, Genetics / Stem Cells, Heart & Lungs, Lifestyle / Exercise to name a few.

Questions and Answers: The Q&A category loads up to 6 random questions and corresponding answers by shaking the iPhone or iPod, simply shake again to load more from the hundreds of questions available such as “What is an ectopic pregnancy?”

Conditions: Our conditions category is split into 3 searching routes, either choose the A to Z list of hundreds of conditions, the condition by Gender and then Body Part or conditions by subject. Each condition provides information such as an Introduction to the Condition, Symptoms of the Condition, Causes of the Condition, Diagnosing the Condition and Treating the Condition plus real life stories from patients who suffer from these conditions.

Live Well: Our Live Well category is grouped into 2 searching functions, search by Topic and search by Group. Topics include articles on Addiction, Alcohol, Anger Management etc and our Groups focus on Live Well articles of Childs Health, Mens Health, Women's Health and Special Reports.
