Description

ARCreader is a free utility to let you read PDF, CBR, CBZ, ZIP and RAR archives on your iPad! Perfect for reading PDFs or any of your personal comic books or ebooks in those supported formats.

UPDATE: To everyone who updated from 1.0 to 1.1.. sorry about losing your installed archives. Unfortunately the archive data was not carried through updates (an unforeseen consequence of the import process). You can still click in the center of the screen to access the library manager and reimport your comics/PDFs.

Archives are copied to your iPad through the new iTunes file sharing section. Once copied, those files can be imported through the app in a process that takes roughly 10 seconds per archive.

Once in your library, you can read each page of your archive by panning, zooming and leafing between pages. An thumbnail index allows you to quickly jump between pages. The library manager allows you to delete unwanted archives from your iPad at any time.

If you'd like to publish your own applications using the ARCreader engine, please don't hesitate to contact me.

What's New in Version 1.2

* INSTALLING THIS UPDATE WILL CLEAR THE FILES YOU'VE IMPORTED INTO THE ARCREADER LIBRARY

* ARCreader has a bug where updating the application sometimes clears out the current library. Version 1.2 fixes that bug, so all future (1.2+) updates will be fine. But upgrading from 1.0 or 1.1 to 1.2 will still delete the library.
