Monster Dictionary is a a fun and interactive streampunk dictionary that makes word finding riveting. It takes the form of a Victorian box of letter monsters that will lead you to graded word lists.

Black holes whisk the monsters around the different parts of this amazing dictionary. For a closer look at the monsters, simply press the ruby button and view them in the Monster Inspector. Make them do interesting things by apply small zaps, or kisses.

Extensively animated, each letter monster has its own personality and interacts with the letters around it (and the user).

When a letter is tapped, you are taken to a list of high frequency words, starting with that letter.

Children tap on a word to hear it spoken and double tap it to see a funny, monster inspired, sentence that shows correct usage.

Additional words can be added by the child by speaking clearly into the brass speaker horn on the recording page.

Suitable for 5 to 11 years old children, the word lists for the dictionary come from the Dolche high frequency word tables, widely used in USA. There is another set of words that use British spellings which can be chosen in the app settings. The lists are also sorted for approximate age and grade of your child.
