Q: How are the crystals grown?
A: With an algorithm I call GROWIT: it's a diffusion-limited aggregation Laplacian growth algorithm which I extended to be curve-seeded by using Euclidean distance fields via 8SSEDT. (Hey, you asked.)

Q: Huh. And are you aware that Kim, Sewell, Lin, et al. published an algorithm that is orders of magnitude faster than diffusion-limited aggregation, and hence much better than yours?
A: Um...yeah. Are you aware that I totally don't care?
