‘Zen ant’ is a minimalist application, reduced in its form and appearance, that provides an unique opportunity to meditate on two ways of attaining goals - acting and staying aloof.


Control is no guarantee
Is it possible to ‘steer’ an ant? An ant is guided by its own logic, which makes its response seem to be unpredictable and coincidental. However, if its reaction corresponds to our expectations, we have an illusion of control.

Coincidence contains opportunity
What happens, if we don't intervene? The seeming Brownian motion makes an ants connection with any of the points probable. The points we distinguish as ‘goals’ are not exceptional for it. Sooner or later, an ant simply arrives at them, on its own, as it would at any other.

Maintaining a balance
Both, ants' responses on your interference and their chaotic behavior could bring them to the goals. The essence of ‘Zen ant’ lies in maintaining the balance between acting and staying aloof. ‘Balance meter’ will help you to find the middle way.
