«The Tale of Tsar Saltan, of His Son the Renowned and Mighty Bogatyr Prince Guidon Saltanovich, and of the Beautiful Princess-Swan» is an 1831 poem by Aleksandr Pushkin, written after the Russian fairy tale edited by Vladimir Dahl.

As a folk tale, it is classified as Aarne-Thompson type 707, the dancing water, the singing apple, and the speaking bird.

Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin (6 June 1799 – 10 February 1837) was a Russian author of the Romantic era who is considered by many to be the greatest Russian poet and the founder of modern Russian literature.
