Description

Florida School Law For Schools is designed to help school administrators answer common questions and deal with routine factual situations having legal significance. Written in a simple key word, menu format, an administrator may browse or search for a subject (e.g., religion), and select from a number of common subject areas to get a concise, plain language answer to his or her question.

Any program which strives to be simple, concise, and user friendly must necessarily sacrifice on detailed treatment of the subject area. This app will give you a quick answer, which is accurate as far as it goes. Many times that will be all the administrator needs to make an informed decision. In those cases where more information or explanation is required, the administrator should seek legal advice. This app is not a substitute for legal advice and must not be relied on as such.

This app was written by James A. Robinson III, Esq., Vice President of Florida School Law, Inc., and Thomas Wittmer, Esq. Jim Robinson served as the General Counsel of the Florida Department of Education, School Board Attorney in Martin and Pinellas County, and Staff Attorney in Alachua County. Tom Wittmer served as Staff Attorney in Alachua County and Assistant School Board Attorney in Pinellas County. Both Mr. Robinson and Mr. Wittmer are Board Certified Experts in Education Law, and Mr. Robinson is a member of The Florida Bar Education Law Certification Committee. Both Mr. Robinson and Mr. Wittmer currently serve as Associates of NEOLA, Inc., a company that consults with a number of School Boards in Florida and elsewhere in the United States in the development and updating of school board bylaws, policies and administrative procedures.
