Description

Gypsypedia is an automated tour guide app that uses geo-tagged Wikipedia articles. Once turned on Gypsypedia starts giving a spoken tour of the user's vicinity. The tour automatically updates as the user moves around.

Gypsypedia searches Wikipedia for articles whose geo-tags are withing a certain distance of the user's current location using WikiLocation (www.wikilocation.org). Gypsypedia then reads the contents of the articles from start to finish using the Open Ears text-to-speech engine (http://www.politepix.com/openears/).

If the user changes their location the list of articles is updated such that the user will always learn about something new within their new vicinity.
