Arturo Betances, better known as "DJ BETANCEZ” although being raised in New York City was born in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. He has always had a passion for music, but he never thought it would become his present day career.At the age of 22 DJ BETANCEZ was going through rough times; having to pay rent yet being unemployed. Noticing his hardship a good friend Alberto Garcias aka DJ DESKONOZIDO decided to lend a helping hand. Alberto would hire him to help out while he deejayed private parties and events.During one of the parties his good friends DJ PITUFO named him "DJ BETANCEZ” This inspired him and made him want to get more socially known as the deejay that he was. However getting well-known was not all that easy for DJ BETANCEZ.Being that the deejay business is so competitive he did not always make the cut at the nightclubs. This did not stop him; it instead made him thrive to be a better deejay.DJ PITUFO then introduced BETANCEZ to DJ CHULO JAY, president of LOSTRAFICANTE.COM (LTP) with whom he then joined forces. Being part of this company has helped DJ BETANCEZ expand his social network, book gigs & even share his mixes with the world.5 years after joining LTP, DJ BETANCEZ is proud to say he has deejayed at New York City’s hottest uptown spots including: 809 Bar & Grill, Umbrella Night Club, Vintich & Tabaco & Ron to name a few. He has also traveled to Miami, Virginia, Arizona, Boston & even his native land Dominican Republic to deejay at some of their hottest venues. His talent & his hard work have brought him to be known as a "complete deejay” to his followers nationwide.
