Description

Discover the tower of Bonvouloir's medieval site following an audio route.

The Pays d’Andaines District Council and Normandy-Maine National Park invite you to embark on a discovery trail, lasting one and a half hours, marked out by 9 fixed stop-over points with sound effects.

Dramatised audio sketches and testimonies will guide you during your tour. On the edge of the forest you will be plunged straight into an area of large clearings, which gave rise to the characteristic farmland areas bordered by hedgerows and thickets, “le bocage”. Near the Bonvouloir Tower, an archeologist and a historian will offer you a few clues towards understanding this intriguing site. Or you may prefer to be reminded of the legend of Count Hugues de Tessé, recounted by an actor.

At the foot of the Tower, a reconstruction of the landscape will demonstrate what can be seen within a 30 km radius. A bit further, along the hedges, acquaint yourself with the use of wild plants from the bocage. The secrets of other recipes will also be revealed, when you approach the trees. Entertain yourselves in the pear orchard by identifying different varieties of the fruit, and let the sound of the sculptor working this precious wood drift over you.
