Description

Pocketable Clinical Pharmacology (POC) is a mobile knowledge base of clinical pharmacology and pharmaceutical medicine for pharmaceutical industry and clinical research professionals and aspirants, students of the aforementioned scientific fields.

POC is conceived to be a significant source of information:
- About 5000 terms with semantic referencing contained in a volume equivalent to about 600 pages from clinical pharmacology, pharmaceutical medicine and related interdisciplinary fields of science
- Based upon hundreds of authorative regulatory sources and covers a broad selection of topics

POC is available in two separate versions: free ('Pocketable Clinical Pharmacology Free') and full ('Pocketable Clinical Pharmacology'). Both versions exhibit the same functionality, i.e. the Free version is not crippled, and showcases all the functions found in the Full version. The principal difference is that the Full version contains the complete knowledge base while the Free version operates on a preview knowledge base: the Free version displays the complete list of titles (about 5000 items), but only entries starting with the letter 'A' can be read in full (cca. 300 items). It is recommended to download and test drive the Free version, for finding out safely whether the application suits your needs and the functions you use operate as expected on your iDevice, before making the purchase of the Full version.

Major features:
- Off-line operation – no internet access is required to utilize the knowledge base
- Dual reading mode:
- - Lexicon mode: browsing and searching the alphabetized list of entries
- - Textbook mode:
- - - browsing and searching the list of entries, arranged in logical order
- - - easy sequential reading of entries, with gesture control: left / right swipe to go back or forth in the entries, double tap to advance to next entry
- Filtering the entries in either reading modes according to topic and region
- Cross references are based on semantic relationships: hypernymy, hyponymy, synonymy, antonymy and complementary terms)
- Annotation and collaborative studying support via management and sharing of bookmark lists (ordered collections of arbitrary number of titles from the POC knowledge base, or of custom note items which contain a single line of user-defined text)
- POC is designed to be a perfect companion material for educational activities and training courses, since bookmark lists with focused and tailored content can be readily disseminated to course attendants.

POC doubles as a searchable and filterable lexicon of alphabetized titles, and as a novel, concept-based textbook, where the titles are in logical (thematic) order. The 'Pocketable Textbook Of Clinical Pharmacology' is accessible as a sequential reading experience from the main, titles screen, while main entry points to the chapters are supplied as a predefined, protected bookmark list, «POC Textbook».
