Madden NFL 12 Shimmies Into iPhone End Zone, Sports A $6.99 Price Tag

American-football fans, listen up: Madden NFL 12 has just landed on the App Store, and it's carrying a $6.99 price tag. Now, EA say that it's the "most authentic NFL game franchise on Earth" and "better than ever", but we have a sneaking suspicion that they may be a little bit biased. So, we're just going to stick to the facts. Madden NFL 12 beefs up the roster, packing in 2,500 NFL players and 32 teams. They're all real, too. Leaderboards and achievements also make the cut, thanks to EA's new Origin online service. Aside from that, it's not a radical upgrade, but if your life ambition is to buy a game called 'Madden NFL 12' for iPhone, this may just be the best $6.99 you ever spend! A…

Hector: Badge of Carnage Episode 2 Sleuthing Onto App Store This Autumn

Calling all detectives, this is an APB. Be on the lookout for the second episode in the Hector: Badge of Carnage detective series. It's lurking somewhere in the iPhone universe. Developers Straandlooper have reported that it is now locked down for an autumn release and is inbound on your position. So, you'll want to apprehend Episode 2 as soon as possible then. We hear it goes by the name Senseless Acts of Justice, and if you're playing this straight, it's going to be on your most-wanted list (I am so sorry about this) right up until release. What's that? Some of you sorry officers don't know what Hector: Badge of Carnage is? Alright, here's the skinny. Hector's a two-dimensional advent…

Gorgeous-Looking Siegecraft To Besiege Your iPhone This September

Crescent Moon Games have just formally announced their next title: Siegecraft. It's got a fantasy-medieval setting, some physics-based warfare, and ruddy amazing graphics. Here's the deal: you'll command and conquer hordes of real and fictional (orcs, anyone?) forces from one corner of the world to the next, flinging crossbows, catapults, and more at them. Still not sold? Well, we really do need to talk about that graphics engine again. It's impossible to write about Siegecraft without giving a nod to the lush 3D graphics. We're not kidding when we say that it's already shaping up to be one of the most beautiful games on iOS, if not on any mobile platform. Your iPhone really is in for…

Critically Acclaimed Android Platformer Cordy Jumps Onto iPhone

We're all friends here, so let's just be straight and admit it: we take energy for granted. Well, maybe not as much for granted when the electricity bills arrive… but anyway, we should be thankful we're not Cordy. Cordy has to run, jump, flip, push, and fight to power up the world. Now that's a hard day's living if you ask me. Another thing that Cordy does is take 'freemium' to the extreme. The first four levels are free, but the rest of the game - and there really is a lot more in it - is exclusive to those who snap up an in-app purchase (priced at $1.99). SilverTree Media say their new 2.5D platformer has "console quality", and with 27 levels powered by some gorgeous graphics -…

Tekken Finally Hits the iPhone, But Not the Tekken You Expect

The long-running beat-'em-up franchise Tekken has finally landed on iPhone, but if you've been waiting for a good old-fashioned bruiser, well, hold your horses, pal, because you're still waiting. As you've probably guessed by now, Tekken Bowl ain't your typical Tekken. There are no fisticuffs to be had here at all, because - and the clue is in the name - you'll actually be playing a tribute to an old bowling mini-game in Tekken Tag Tournament. You have 3 unique characters to choose from, as well as two bowling game modes to play through - including a physics-based Puzzle mode. Game Center support for achievements and leaderboards roll in to round off the package. So, while this isn't t…

Jet Car Stunts 2 On iPhone Will Include Freestyle Trick Mode

Our chums over at Pocket Gamer have snagged themselves a rather tasty news morsel about True Axis's Jet Car Stunts successor, the rather obviously named Jet Car Stunts 2. True Axis told PG that the upcoming sequel will feature six selectable vehicles, as well as a new level editor. They also spilled the beans on the new Freestyle mode, which is apparently "like playing a skateboarding game with a car." And just like a skateboarding game, the aim is to - yep, you guessed it - pull off impressive tricks to score your way to big points. So, basically, drive crazy, and you'll earn crazy points. Simples. In case you missed it, the excellent original picked up top marks back when we reviewed i…

Tiny Tower Update Accidentally Adds More Bugs

If you enjoyed Tiny Tower as much as we did back when our man reviewed it, naturally you'd expect to be pleased by news of an update...especially one that adds some fresh swag. That's how we felt at first, too, but sadly life just isn't that simple. NimbleBit, Tiny Tower's developers, have accidentally infested the game they were trying to patch with some horrid bugs. So, what was the update actually supposed to bring to the Tiny Tower table? Five new businesses, a brand-new VIP, frequent autosaving, sound issue fixes, and the ability to quickly scroll to the top of your tower are the main additions and tweaks to this free building-management game. A pretty beefy update, in other words,…

Awesome Saucer Beams Down To App Store

Piloting a flying saucer into space and blowing up some alien ships is one of life's most exclusive pleasures. Sadly, we can't all be Will Smith, but Awesome Saucer on iPhone might just be the next best thing. This spaced-based dogfighter promises "unlimited levels", original music, unlockable weapons, and intuitive controls - including an inverted controls setting if you're so inclined. The 3D graphics look pretty good, too, as missile trails and spaceship engines fill the screen with neon flair. And although you can't upload any computer viruses to an alien mothership, Chromium Torpedos and Graviton Missiles mean you probably won't need to anyway. Awesome Saucer is out now on the App…
