Axe in Face - Defense of the Daffodils, apart from being a mouthful of a title it's a great way to spend your spare time while saving your virtual flowers from destruction.

Full Review

In Blue Carrot Games' first title for the App Store, 'Axe in Face - Defense of the Daffodils', you'll play the role of a viking who's very VERY protective of his daffodils. To crush his daffodils is to invoke his wrath and you don't want to mess with a viking that can throw a flaming axe while calling on the power of the gods.

In each of the game's 32 currently available levels you'll need to protect your field while burning, freezing, shocking or lopping off heads from other invading vikings. The controls are dead simple to learn and all you have to do is draw a line for your axe to follow, hopefully taking out your foes in the process. New challenges are quickly introduced including enemies with hard shields or even trees to block your shots, so you'll have to time your axe throws to either hit them from behind or burn them alive by setting your axe on fire first.

The visuals are just adorable, with each viking being rendered in a cute cartoonish style and while lopping off heads may be a bit gruesome the game doesn't sink to splashing blood all over the place without any reason. Most levels are easy enough to complete with little complication, however for those after gold star completions you'll have to get large combos and minimize your axe usage accordingly.

Axe in Face is simple, uncomplicated fun that combines line-drawing and castle defense gameplay in a clever way that makes this an easy game to recommend to all casual gamers that don't mind a bit of cartoon violence.

I think it is a great app with huge replayablity which does not get mentioned in the review.

I enjoy being able to go back to every level and getting Gold on them all. Every day i now try to get a higher score on every level as i have mastered them all.

But now with the inclusion of multiplayer which need to be mentioned, I have lots more i can do with my favorite game.

I defianatly recomend people purchase this game.
