TeamLava are no stranger to the social gaming scene and Bakery Story™ is the latest in their series of titles to attempt to ensnare and ruin the spare time of those who just can't get enough of the virtual-life.

The process of succeeding as a virtual bakery store owner is a relatively simple one and players need only to provide a place for their customers to sit down and enjoy their food, while keeping their counters filled with products cooked from their kitchen stations. The amount and type of stations available increases as you level up and food needs to be prepared by selecting and tapping the item several times, then waiting till it's cooked (and acting as the obligatory time-sink in the process) and then served up for customers to purchase. This process continues on and on, providing you with cash to purchase new surroundings and recipes for your customers.

Given the simplicity of the gameplay it's a shame to note that the game has several glaring problems with its touch detection and also lacks handy controls for decorating your store. Kitchen utensils need to be spaced out to prevent selecting the wrong one, while placing large amounts of items like floor tiles or wallpaper requires tedious repetitive tapping to individually purchase each one.

As such this puts a dampener on an otherwise good looking, but standard social game. For no entry fee you get a decent title in Bakery Story, however this is a price common to so many others and until the game's basic issues are solved it's a hard game to recommend.
