5 reasons you should play Gear.Club right now

Gear.Club is a game about driving cars. And I’m not talking about those sensible cars that you or I can afford, I’m talking about the sort of cars that cost more than a house. More than a hundred houses, depending on where you buy your houses from.

But why should you be playing it on your iPad or iPhone? Well that’s a good question, imaginary person who asked me that question, and I’m glad that you hypothetically asked me it.

Here are a bunch of reasons that should answer your question that you didn’t ask but I did. Lord have mercy am I ever jet-lagged.

The Cars

They’re so vroomy, they’re so incredibly out of our reach, they’re so likely to kill us if we ever actually got behind the wheel of them in real-life.

And there are loads of them. Just piles and piles of incredible cars that you’ll want to digitally acquire.

How good it looks

I mean you don’t need me to tell you this, but Gear.Club looks lovely. It looks so lovely that there’s a part of me that feels like this entrant in the list is cheating.

But I love to cheat, so I’m doing it anyway. This is one of the shiniest looking games you’re going to be able to install on your phone or tablet in a while, so show off to your friends.

Pocket Gamer really likes it

Over on our sister site Pocket Gamer, Jon Mundy reviewed Gear.Club. And he really liked it. He’s totally cool and trustworthy as well, so he’s worth listening to it. Here’s what he called it -

“A truly excellent console-style racer that's been carefully modified for mobile play.” Now you’ve never been called that, have you? But Gear.Club has, so that’s awesome.

The options

If you like tweaking things, tweaking more things, and continuing to tweak things until your fingers are sore and you don’t remember why you started tweaking in the first place then you’re in luck.

And we’re not just talking about tweaking your car, there are plenty of choices you can make elsewhere. Driver aids, manual gearboxes, there’s a lot going on here and you can play around with it all.

It’s been a while

Let’s be honest, it’s been a long time since there’s been a decent simulation racer on iOS. We’ve been waiting a while for this one.

So, er, yeah, get it and give it a go and see if you like it. You probably will if you like good things. Because this is a good thing. I’m going for a nap now.
