Hi there Friday. You look lovely, strutting around in your finery like the cock of the walk. You know we love you best of all the days in the week, and you're not afraid to milk that affection for all that its worth. I can respect that.

And since it's Friday, that means it's time to round up the best games that have come out on the App Store this week. It's been a pretty decent week all told, especially when you compare it to last week. Let's never talk about last week ever again.

As usual you can click on the emboldened names of the games below to download them from the App Store. And if you think I've missed anything, which I probably have, chuck your suggestions in the comments at the bottom of the article.

Brainful

A mixture of a puzzler and a reaction tester. You need to remember what button you pushed last and where it told you to go. It takes a while to get to grips with things, but once you do you'll find a bright and impressive little game.

Wagers of War

What would happen if you crossed Hearthstone with Clash Royale? Well, it'd be something a little bit like this. A pared back card game that's surprisingly engaging. Throw down with foes, get tangled in the sharp tactics, and have a lovely old time doing it.

Full Throttle

A classic point and click adventure from the golden days of the genre. Smart, funny, and not quite like anything you've ever played before. If you've not had a go at this one before, then it's definitely worth checking out. And if you have, well you're going to love it just as much this time round.

Project MALLOW

Basically this is what would happen if you fired an Angry Bird at a Super Meat Boy. It's a super difficult, single screen twanging adventure that ratchets up the difficulty every step you take. There's plenty to do, a sky high challenge, and a tight compulsion loop that could well cut off your circulation.

Layton's Mystery Journey

It's a Professor Layton game, designed for mobile. There's a level of polish here that you'd expect from a game bearing such a triple-A moniker. The puzzles are smart, the cut scenes are brilliant, and you can stick it on your phone. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny.
