Squashy Bug, as you might be able to tell from the title, is a game about a Squashy Bug. You're not trying to squash the squashy bug though, you're trying to stop it from getting squashed. All the while attempting to increase your high score.

It's a pretty simple thing, but there are a few tips and tricks that we've collated during our time with the game that are sure to push you even higher up the leaderboards. And since we're all good eggs here at AppSpy, we figured it'd be a very good idea to share them with you.

If you've got your own hints that you'd like to share then feel free to hurl them into the comments section at the end of the article. And if you don't, well that's fine too. You're still welcome to come and hang out here whenever you'd like.

The basics

There are two parts to the game. First you're trying to avoid the feet that are crashing down all around you. Second you're trying to collect the coins that pop up and drop them into the slot at the centre of the screen.

The controls are pretty easy. You press the left of the screen to move left and the right of the screen to move right. You'll pick up coins automatically, and deposit them in the slot just by walking over it. Your main concentration should be on staying alive though.

Keep ahead of the feet

The best way to avoid the feet that are stomping onto the floor is to time your movements. When one foot lands, scurry up behind or in front of it. The next foot from that person isn't going to come down close to the first one, so you're going to be safe from that boot at least.

The trick comes when there are multiple people on screen at the same time. You need to figure out where the feet are going to land and make sure you're not there. Feet never stop in the same place, but there can be some overlap. Just because you've dodged one person doesn't mean you're going to dodge the next.

The coins

Don't chase the coins too much, but do try and pick them up as often as you can. Remember that the feet can move the coins when you haven't picked them up, kicking them left or right depending on which part of the foot they hit.

Make sure that you're aware of where the coin is going to be, and what's about to stamp there. Sometimes coins get knocked off the edge of the screen. If that happens you're going to have to stay alive until the next one pops up if you want to score a point.
