Since it's coming up to the end of the year, we've decided that it's time to start rounding up what has been a particularly good year in the mobile gaming world. And we thought we'd do it by running down our ten favourite games of the last twelve months.

Because we're traditionalists we're going to start with our tenth best game of the year. We'd love to hear what you thought of the game, whether you agree with its position on the list, or if you wouldn't even bother playing it with a twenty seven foot barge pole.

We're starting things off with what we reckon might be the best mobile platformer of the past twelve months. It's all about a Viking who's trying to prove that he deserves to be included in all the Viking-y fun that the rest of his clan are getting up to.

That involves traversing a gorgeous-looking world, discovering the skills and talents you're going to need to survive. Sure, a lot of your survival is down to jumping around, but there's plenty more here as well, with puzzles and scraps and boss fights all waiting for you.

This isn't just a stunningly good-looking game, it plays brilliantly on touchscreen as well. It's dripping with the sort of charm that other experiences can only dream of, and it's going to leave you with a big smile all over your big ol' face. Or, if you're not like us, your small young face.
