It was pretty tough to pick just one game to recommend to you this week, but since that's what we do every Thursday here at AppSpy, it seemed like it was a good idea to give it a go. We managed it too, just about - we reckon this week you should definitely give Linn: Path of Orchards a go.

Why? Well for one thing it's one of the most interesting platformers we've seen on the App Store in a good long while. It takes ideas from the likes of Monument Valley, but rather than riding on those coattails, it tries something new with them. Like being in 2D, for example.

You don't have any control over the world here either - it moves and changes as you dart around the tight little levels, and you need to react in just the right ways to grab all the golden orbs and get to the exit.

There are levels in the game that, when they start, look utterly impossible. Not only do your fingers have to be up to full speed here, your brain needs to lock in to the game's way of thinking. Once that happens, you're going to be having an absolute ball.

As well as a hefty chunk of levels to make it through, there are challenges waiting for you here that are really going to test your mettle. They're entirely optional though - get through the exit gate in a level and you'll open up the next one. There are a few niggles here, but for the most part this is one of the slickest games we've played in a long time.

If any of that sounds like it's the sort of thing that's going to tickle your fancy, you can pick up Linn: Path of Orchards by clicking this link right here. It'll set you back £2.99 / $2.99, and we're pretty sure that it's worth every penny.
