Surviving in Minecraft: Pocket Edition, Episode 8 - Shear Delight

By , on October 28, 2014

After a one week hiatus, our Let's Play of Minecraft: PE is back for another round, and this time I've brought some Shears with me.

Sheep get shorn, ducks lay eggs, and Creepers attempt to gang up on me - it's a very nature-filled episode come to think of it.

But there's also a lot more work that's put into our second mine, all sorts of wood gets chucked, and a new escape hatch is built for emergencies.

Also: flooding!

Just watched the last couple of minutes of the vid — 'it's not what it looks like!' — CLASSIC!!!!

Oh and by the way, definitely stick with the series buddy, it makes great viewing. And even throws in the odd laugh too!

Hey Peter, quick question for you... When this Pocket Edition of Minecraft first hit the App Store, it launched to a sea of below-to-average reviews from the media, with — from memory — a significant lack of content cited as its chief issue.

With that in mind, here's my question. Now that Minecraft: Pocket Edition has been with us for what, a good two or three years now, and has undergone more than a dozen content updates, how does it stack up in its current form?

Is it still an 'average' port, and more to the point, should I buy it? With my Vita currently out of action — and as such, the PSN version not a viable option — is this the version with which to pop my Minecraft cherry?

Thanks buddy :-)

I really like this version, though as far as I know it's a little bit behind the PC one. I think that's always going to be the case to some extent, so I guess the question is: do you want to play Minecraft on the go? If so, this is a brilliant choice. The Vita version does look ace, but I'm yet to give that much of a go.
