Top 5 Temple Run alternatives on Android

By , on December 15, 2014

Temple Run is still the undisputed champion of auto-runners no matter what mobile platform you're on. Unfortunately, due to its success, a lot of awesome alternatives get completely looked over - especially on Android, where the market is flooded with cheap and tacky alternatives.

Not to worry, AppSpies - we're here to help. We've played a whole bunch of them and seperated the wheat from the chaff to bring you this epic list of Temple Run alternatives on Android.

 1Run Forrest Run

Who doesn't want to play an auto-runner based on Forrest Gump? This one is more like a cartoon version, with colourful graphics, larger than life versions of the characters, and events that just don't come close to happening in the film.

2. Sonic Dash

Sonic had to become an auto-runner at some point and it finally happened last year. What we got was slightly disappointing and doesn't touch Temple Run - primarily due to a high level of difficulty and an expensive in-game store - but Sonic die-hards won't care. This is very much a Sonic game with lots of nods to previous entries in the long-running series.

3. Running Quest

An endless runner for RPG-fanatics, Running Quest is pretty darn good. It's basically Temple Run except you have a massive sword that you swing at enemies. There is equipment to purchase, skills to unlock, and many fantasy enemy's heads to lop off.

4. Subway Surfers

The game that's come closest to taking Temple Run's crown so far is Subway Surfers, an auto-runner with excellent visuals, cheap in-game purchases, and a distinctive style that should please old-school Jet Set Radio fans.

5. Spider-Man Unlimited

The newest competitor in town, Spider-Man Unlimited is Spider-Man through and through. Oh, and it's also a surprisingly decent runner!
