Full Review
Recently we reviewed a couple 3D Tetris titles with Tetra3D leading the charge for a fun revival of this classic twist on an old-school arcade puzzle game. Given these releases it would be unfair to forget to review Fragmental 3D by Aesthetic Interactive, especially when this title made its debut earlier, making the comparison between these games quite interesting to say the least.
Fragmental 3D differs in its approach by using default controls that are quite unique, requiring players to use large indicators surrounding each block to position them in place. A toggle also allows you to switch between moving the block along its sides and rotating it in to a new position. Scoring only requires players to make a single row or column match, but multiple matches are rewarded with additional points.
The default block-set is quite hard to wrap your head around, but provides a far better challenge over the classic tetra-blocks that make the game easy enough to be considered more of a casual mode. The 3D graphics are neat and colorful, with beautiful background designs and a clean interface that's easy to use, however it would be nice to see anti-aliasing used to sharpen up the visuals for those using a 3GS or higher.
Fragmental 3D is a beautiful resurrection of the 3D Tetris gameplay and definitely worth checking out whether you're a casual or hardcore puzzle fan.

Fragmental 3D adds entirely new dimensions to Tetris®, the classic 2D game of falling blocks. In addition to the obvious new dimension -- depth -- Fragmental 3D includes multiple Fragment collections, huge combos, playful background environments, a worldwide leaderboard, lifetime player statistics, and more!
Fragmental 3D is meant to be challenging, and it may take a few games to learn the strategies and master the controls. Be sure to read through the Instructions page, and watch the Visual Instruction video on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbdcC8IzBUw
***Additional Game Details***
Each Fragment is made with several cubes, and each cube fits into one space in the playing grid. A winning line occurs when you form a horizontal row of five cubes across the width/depth of the grid. Winning lines disappear from the grid, then cubes directly above fall down to fill the gap left behind.
To achieve higher scores, try to win multiple lines using a single Fragment. Scores also increase as you move to higher levels in the game. Every 10 lines you accumulate increases the level, which adds difficulty by boosting the Fragment falling speed.
Fragmental 3D uses AGON Online to provide world-wide, regional, and local leaderboards. To take advantage of this amazing feature, please sign up for a free AGON Player Profile. Scores are recorded on your device, and are submitted to AGON when you have an active internet connection.
***Supported Devices***
Fragmental 3D requires iPhone OS 3.1 or higher. It has been tested on all iPhone and iTouch devices. Note: On older devices, it is normal to see the reflections disappear -- this is how Fragmental 3D maintains performance.
