Along with their highly acclaimed Asphalt series, Gameloft have now decided to create more of a racing sim with GT Racing. Mirroring the structure of the Gran Turismo games (while streamlining it), this title has you acquiring driver's licenses, buying cars, tweaking them and racing all over the globe to be the best driver you can be.
GT Racing offers three control schemes. The default is tilt steering with an accelerator and brake on screen, but you can also choose from steering keys and an on-screen wheel. The game also features many modes of assistance for newer racing gamers with on road guides and a variable amount of automatic breaking.
Visually the game rises to Gameloft's usual high standards, with the cars and tracks beautifully rendered. The sound is ok, with the music being adequete, but there's nothing special here. Alongside career mode with all its options, there is also arcade mode, and multiplayer.
GT Racing is a solid racing game which will appeal to those looking for a more realistic racing experience. While it does not contain the content or customizability of Gran Turismo, this is a solid effort that should keep racing enthusiasts happy.
