At first glance it's easy to compare Kung Fu Touch by Kiube Mobile to other successful slashing titles like Fruit Ninja, however the developer assures me that they began work on their product before Halfbrick's release came to light. True or not, this game definitely has its own unique feel, but the stark difference in design philosophy has led this game in a far less successful direction.

Your teacher has decided to put himself in harm's way in order to sharpen your Kung Fu skills and you'll need to slash and tap your way to victory, protecting him as much as possible from various themed items from around the world. The gameplay itself is initially similar to Fruit Ninja, with objects randomly entering the screen and several bombs entering the mix that need to be avoided, however it doesn't take long before a pattern emerges out of the chaos. This brings the gameplay value down significantly as each stage becomes a matter of identifying which item goes with which preset path and then dealing with the slowly increasing pace at which your teacher is attacked.

The game's visual style is its only real stand-out feature, with large stylistic and clean designs that would be clever if it wasn't for the uninspired choices for objects used against your teacher.

Kung Fu Touch has a sound idea and could definitely manage to make it work, but for now it's hard to recommend as the gameplay lacks depth and while fun to play for a short time it just doesn't bring any hooks to keep playing.
