The Tuesday Best of - Multiplayer shooters for iPhone and iPad

Modern Combat Versus has just soft launched in Australia and New Zealand. If you've not heard of it it's Gameloft's latest version of its shooty bang bang series, this time with a focus on multiplayer. Shoot men, shoot some more men, win points and make your shooty stuff better. You know the drill, soldier. So now seemed like a pretty good time to round up the three best multiplayer shooters that are available world wide on the App Store right now. Basically we're taking a moment to check out the competition. As usual you can click on the emboldened name of the game below to be whisked away to a safe and special place where you can download it. The Monday Musing - What does E3 mean for mobile gaming?

Well it's that time of the year again. The good and the great and the average of the gaming industry have gathered in Los Angeles to paste giant billboards on the side of buildings and get the hype trains started for the latest AAA releases. But here at AppSpy we're far more concerned with the mobile side of things. And that got the cogs in my brain whirring round something rotten. It made me wonder whether mobile gamers should even be that bothered about what's going on at E3? So I decided to write a piece of content about it. After all, content makes the world go round. Or at least I assume it does. It could be something to do with science, but I tend not to bother myself with such unimp…

The 5 best games for iPhone and iPad this week - June 9th

It's been a pretty good week for iOS gaming, all told. Obviously one release stands head and shoulders over all the others. You know the one I'm talking about. Don't worry if you don't though, we'll get to it in a bit. As per usual, we're going to round up the five best games that have hit the App Store this week. That's just the kind of gentle and caring souls we are here at AppSpy. Sharing is caring. And we care. A lot. You can click on the emboldened name of the games below to be whisked away to the App Store where you can download them. And if you think we've missed anything then feel free to chuck your own suggestions in the comments at the bottom of the article. Monument Valley 2 I…

The Thursday Find - Super Sticky Bros

Thursday is upon us again, some of us are voting in a general election, and it's actually stopped raining where I am. Windows are open, shorts are on, so let's get this over and done with quickly so I can go play in the park. This week's Thursday find might not be the shiniest game on the App Store, but it is an interesting one. And sometimes that counts for a lot more than polish. As ever you can click on the emboldened name of the game below to download it. But Harry, you're no doubt weeping, you haven't even told us what the game is. Oh yeah, sorry about that. It is, of course... Super Sticky Bros Ostensibly this one's a platformer. It's pretty unwieldy when you first start playing, b…

The best games on sale for iPhone and iPad right now - June 7th

Hi Wednesday, how's it going? Oh, really? That's interesting. Anyway, since I don't really care and I'm talking to a day, how about we get on with creating some excellent content for the fine readers of App Spy? Sounds like a plan? Cool. Every Wednesday we round up the best games that are on sale on the App Store right now. And that's exactly what we're going to do. Because we're fearsome creatures of habit here. Change will be the death of us. As usual you can click on the emboldened name of the games below to download them. Get it? Got it? Good. Let's do this. Here's everything you need to know about Monument Valley 2 for iPhone and iPad

Well that was a bolt out of the blue wasn't it? Monument Valley 2 didn't just get announced yesterday, it got released as well. And it's really rather special. Which obviously means it's time for some content. I thought it'd be a good idea to round up everything you need to know about the game in one handy place, so you're fully prepared for what's to come when you leap in. And you should leap in. Oh please leap in. Don't worry though, there aren't any spoilers here, because that would be a horrible thing to do. You can click on the emboldened name of the game below to grab it from the App Store. And I assure you, you really should. Monument Valley 2 What is it? It's the sequel to one o…

The Monday Musing - Which other Pokemon deserve their own spinoff game?

Well, Magikarp Jump is a game. It's quite a good game as well, so long as you don't mind playing games where you don't actually really do all that much. But it has stirred a thought deep within the recesses of my brain, and I have decided to release that thought onto the world. And I'm going to do it in the form of glorious, glorious content. This piece of content in fact. It's a list I like to call, what other Pokemon deserve their own standalone games. It seemed like a good idea when it first came to me, so I'm running with it. Agree? Disagree? Want me to write more posts that detail hypothetical games that fictional characters should become engaged in? Well let us know in the comments b…

The 5 best games for iPhone and iPad this week - June 1st

Happy Friday. As everyone around here knows, Friday is the day of the week when we take stock, look at the mess we've made of the week, and try and make some sense of it. Or, in other words, we look at the five best games that came out on the App Store this week. It's not been a vintage seven days, to be honest, but after some of the gems we've had in the last few months that's only to be expected. Still, there are some pretty solid entries to the list this week, and that's not something to sniff at. As usual you can click on the emboldened name of the games below to download them. And if you think we've missed anything out, feel free to stick your own suggestions in the comment section al…

The Thursday Find - Bouncy Hoops

Well it's Thursday, so that means it's time to pick one game that's come out this week that's really piqued my attention. It's a regular sort of thing I like to do around these parts, and it's called the Thursday Find. This week's discovery twangs at my nostalgic heart strings. Mainly because it involves basketballs setting on fire and one of my best gaming memories involves day-long sessions of NBA JAM. As usual you can click on the emboldened name of the game below to download it. But what is this hallowed remembery game that I'm talking about? Why it's... Bouncy Hoops It might not have the scope of NBA Jam, but there's something compulsive about Bouncy Hoops all the same. It's a one-t…
