Terraria Heading to iOS Soon

Terraria Heading to iOS Soon

Back in 2011 on the PC, Terraria was released. At the time it looked like a 2D Minecraft with more of a focus on combat. Earlier this year it got ported over to consoles, and now finally it looks to be on its way to iOS. Now with the complexity of the game, the control scheme needs to be fine-tuned, otherwise this release will be dead in the water. Appparently the game has been redesigned with the touch-screen in mind. We'll know when the game is released. For now, have a look at the launch trailer for the console version.…

Champs: Battlegrounds offers a head to head Tactical Experience this Summer

From the press release, this sounds like an attempt to create a small scale MOBA (games like League of Legends) on the iOS platform, but instead of a team of individuals working together, you hand pick a team of champs and take their unique abilities into battle against another team. Have a look at the trailer and see what you think. Look for this to be released in the next couple of months.…

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic coming to iPad

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic coming to iPad

BioWare's epic RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is coming to iPad this week. Tongues started wagging about the possibility of an iOS version of KOTOR last week, when publishing house Aspyr accidentally referenced the game in a digital newsletter. However, all speculation was put to rest earlier this morning when IGN published a review of the iPad port. Thankfully, the review is largely positive, though its author does highlight some issues relating to movement controls. We can remember playing the KOTOR way back in 2003, and think the game would be ideally suited to tablet devices. The point-and-click interface of the PC version should translate perfectly onto touchscreens. That…

'9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors' Releases on Japanese iOS

'9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors' Releases on Japanese iOS

999 is a very interesting game that I only completed earlier this year myself. I can recommend it to any fan of visual novels and locked room puzzles, and seeing it's just been released on the Japan iOS store with an English port coming in Quarter 4, it will be much easier for those who wish to play it to do so. Here's the thing though, they've removed the locked room puzzles to focus more heavily on the visual novel aspects. To this end they've created a more comic book style presentation, and a flowchart system similar to the one in the game's sequel Virtue's Last Reward (which I shall be playing whenever I finally grab a 3DS). For those unfamiliar with the game, here's the tra…

Badland receives 10 new levels in 'Day II' update

Side-scrolling auto-flier Badland has just received a massive content injection, in the form of the "Day II" update. What can fans of Frogmind's highly-rated iOS hit expect? Well, downloading the free update (version 1.2) will add 10 brand-new levels to the game's single player campaign. These levels bring with them no less than 30 additional missions. As a bonus, you'll also gain five unlockable achievements upon which to set your sights. If that wasn't enough, we hear that the developer is already hard at work on the next update, which is said to contain another 10 levels. You've got to respect that work ethic. You can download the Badland "Day II" update from the App Store right now.…

Warhammer Quest to hit the App Store at midnight

At the stroke of midnight, classic Games Workshop tabletop game Warhammer Quest will be reborn on the App Store. Rodeo Games, the folks behind turn-based shooter Hunters 2, have taken it upon themselves to translate the original cardboard adventure game into a touchscreen-friendly iPhone and iPad title. You take control of a small party of warriors, inculding an Dwarf Ironbreaker, an Elf Waywatcher, and a Grey Wizard. It's up to you to guide these characters through a series of perilous dungeons, killing orcs and other nasties as you go. Having played a little Warhammer Quest, we can say that the emphasis here is definitely on tactics. Squad management is priority, and it's important to p…

Kingdom Rush: Frontiers marching onto iOS June 6th

The sequel to tower defence titan Kingdom Rush is set to charge onto the App Store next Thursday. Entitled Kingdom Rush: Frontiers, this follow-up will expand the medieval universe established by its acclaimed predecessor. This means fans can look forward to new maps, additional enemies, and (naturally) a selection of additional towers to build. From the looks of the natty new trailer (below), the terrain in Kingdom Rush: Frontiers is a lot more varied this time around. Beyond the standard grassy environments, the devs have included desert, stone, and tropical maps to survey and defend. We can also see some impressive new tower artillery, including some mighty mechs, and some sinister-lo…

Dubai Autodrome update coming to Real Racing 3

Real Racing 3 fans should prepare to screech around the hot tarmac of the Dubai Autodrome, thanks to a new update "coming soon" to the App Store. Developer Firemonkeys has released a small teaser trailer to whet our appetites for the impending update. During its 18-second run time, we catch glimpses of some handsomely-rendered motors tearing up a couple of sunkissed tracks. According to the game's Facebook page, players can expect "new cars, and new events", plus "twilight racing at the Dubai Autodrome". How romantic. As soon as we have a release date, we'll let you know. In the meantime, check out the trailer for yourself below.  …

NarcoGuerra

Gamethenews, the company that tried to bring Endgame: Syria to the App Store and had to settle for Endgame: Eurasia, has now created a game based on the US War on Drugs and the Mexican drug cartels in their new game NarcoGuerra. It's essentially the game of Risk, which raises the interesting notion of using tried and true game mechanics to tackle more serious and pertinent issues. Have a look at the trailer for a little more understanding. The game is out now for the price of $0.99.[App Store Link]…

The Executive

From the developer behind Pizza vs Skeletons comes a beat em up in the boardroom. The Executive has you defending your company against werewolves, and as this teaser trailer will show you, the game has an interesting visual style and some slick animation. The game is not slated for release till next year, so while it seems a bit cruel that we'll have to wait, we at least know a little of what to expect when it finally arrives.[Source - Toucharcade]…

The Middle of the Curiosity Cube has been Breached!

Six months after the release of Curiosity, not only has the middle of the cube been breached, we also know what is inside. For those of you unfamiliar, Curiosity was an experimental app where you could tap on the side of a cube to uncover the layer beneath. You could also buy special tools through IAP to increase your cube breaking prowess, but the idea was that sooner or later through the combined effort of all the players, one person would reach the center... and what was there was for them, and them alone. So here's a video of Peter Molyneux explaining what was in the center of the cube (as the winner, Bryan Henderson was ok with the secret being shared with the world). Some…

Ace Attorney HD collection arrives next week

After a lot of conjecture and several conflicting statements, Capcom has finally produced concrete evidence that Phoenix Wright combo app Ace Attorney HD is to appear on the App Store next week. The series focuses on upstart lawyer Phoenix Wright as he tries to solve a string of grisly murders. It's up to you to pick through the evidence and interrogate witnesses in order to secure your client's freedom. As this is a remastered edition, fans can also look forward to some new game modes, and the…

Exzeus 2

The first Exzeus was released in 2009, and was primarily an on-rails shooter, along the lines of a Sin and Punishment or Space Harrier. Now in 2013 developers Hyperdexbox Japan are releasing the sequel. It looks to keep the on-rails gameplay, while adding a third person shooter beat-em-up aspect to the mix. Have a look at this preview video! There is no definitive release date aside from "very soon" so we'll keep a watch out, and certainly review the title once its released. Here's hoping that it controls as well as it looks fun to play!…

Mansion Run is a Multi-leveled Endless Runner

Bones Wellington is enjoying his wine and fire, when he realises he has a ghost infestation. What is a man named Bones Wellington to do? Well in most endless runners he'd be jumping gaps, but in Mansion Run he's cycling throught the many floors of his house. Have a look at the trailer. While it doesn't look too different than most endless runners, fans of the genre will certainly enjoy the small change up, and charming 8-bit presentation. The game is due out on the App Store on May 30th for the price of $0.99.…
