Control and race toy cars with Anki Overdrive this September

Remember when you used to play with Scalextric as a kid, seeing how fast you could make the toy car go before it flew off the track? Anki have taken that idea to the next level. Meet Anki Overdrive, a game in which you build your own physical race track, plonk your toy car on it, then race against other toy cars, controlled either by A.I. or a friend. Oh, and you and your friends control your cars via an app on your smartphones or tablets. Not bad, eh? Anki Overdrive is due out this September. Check out the official trailer below for an overly dramatic display of how the game works.  …

22cans addresses the Godus community over concerns about the game's future

As it currently stands, a fair few of the features promised in the Kickstarter campaign won't be making their way into Godus, which has resulted in an outpouring of concern from the Godus community. Amidst this unrest, the developers of Godus have released a video status update to try and address the concerns about the future of the game, which has had its development shifted to a smaller team. Check out the video below, where 22cans go into much further detail about the Kickstarter campaign, the game's development, and its future.…

Check out how Legend of Grimrock will play on your iPad this spring

2012 saw the arrival of a real indie gem in Legend of Grimrock which was inspired by first person dungeon crawlers of yore such as Dungeon Master and Eye of the Beholder. Legend of Grimrock is now coming to iPad and I can't wait to give it a second run. It's just entered the beta stage which means, in technical terms, that it's nearly there. Legend of Grimrock will arrive in the App Store this spring. Check out the brand new footage from Almost Human below to see the game in its current state.…

Soul Seeker is a mobile action RPG that's all about the team effort

Come to think of it, most action RPGs are selfish experiences. Bar a small few, you're largely on your own destroying absolutely everything in your path such as orcs or barrels just minding their own business. However, in Soul Seeker you assemble a whole team of action junkies to take on the world with. Let's hope that means you don't have to hammer the health potion button when you can get a team mate to heal you instead. Soul Seeker RIse of the Devils is out now on iOS and Android. The trailer below will give you a better look at the game and the links below will take you to the App Store and Google Play. [App Store link] [Google Play link]…

Welcome to Toysburg where a lunatic skates around turning children into their favourite toys

Toysburg is a free to play sandbox game by Angry Mob Games, the developers behind Muffin Knight, that's currently in soft launch in Australia. True to form, Toysburg has a similar cartoon style and charm. You skate around turning children into their favourite toys for an as of yet unknown reason. There's a crafting system that lets you take parts from different toys to make a new toy altogether. Ever wanted to put a Viking's head on a cows body with octopus tentacles for feet? Now you can. Check out the debut trailer below to witness Toysburg's insanity for yourself. It's set to launch on the App Store and Google Play later this year.…

Porsche Cayman GT4 performs a 1080 donut wheelspin onto Real Racing 3. That's a thing, right?

Porsche Cayman GT4 performs a 1080 donut wheelspin onto Real Racing 3. That's a thing, right?

Joining Real Racing 3's already overflowing roster of 4-wheeled contraptions known as cars comes the Porsche Cayman GT4. Aspiring petrolheads can win themselves a virtual version of the roadster by completing a set of in-game events, thereby appeasing the digital overlords. You can see the canary yellow beauty in action below. As far as I'm concerned, that is the only colour it should be available in. [App Store link]…

Evoland is a parody of pretty much every RPG ever and is out now on iOS and Android

What Evoland aims to do is recreate all of your finest RPG memories from the 8-bit era to modern day 3D all in one game. Evoland starts out in monochrome with turn-based battles but as you progress you'll unlock better technology until you're exploring a fully 3D version of the same world and duking it out with monsters in real time, action-packed battles. As an RPG nut, I'm already sold. For those still unsure, check out the trailer below then head on over to the App Store page beneath if it takes your fancy. [App Store link]…

DUO! aims to reinvent pair-em up memory games and is out tomorrow on iOS

At first glance, DUO! looks to be just like every other match-two puzzler. You tap face down cards on the board to reveal their numbers, memorising them so that you can match two in future. Where it differs here, though, is that you can go on a straight if you discover where one, two, and three are hiding, giving you more points. There are plenty of bonuses and minigames to round out DUO!'s eighty levels of regular play. Check out the trailer below in anticipation of DUO! arriving on the App Store tomorrow, 5th February.  …

Fire King Claudius out of a cannon in the name of justice with To Be or Not To Be

A roomful of monkeys are theorised to be able to eventually re-write the complete works of Shakespeare. What's more likely is that they'd write something chaotic, nonsensical, violent, and frankly a lot more fun. With To Be or Not To Be, Tin Man Games channels its inner simian to warp Hamlet into a surreal and irreverent Gamebook.Check out the trailer below to discover just why Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are the guys to be with on a party cruise.…
