Dead Dragons is about dragons who are actually not dead, but they soon will be, maybe

Imagine this: you're part of a big human empire that - over 100 years ago - managed to wipe out the dragons that once plagued your lands. Then you find out that they're not all gone after all, and that maybe humans and dragons have a lot more in common than you first thought. That's the situation that the protagonist of Dead Dragons - a chap named Will - finds himself in, and it's up to him (and by proxy, you) to uncover their dragon-y mysteries across dozens of hours of JRPG. It's from Kemco, has a lovely 2D anime visual style, an intriguing battle system, and is out now on iOS and Android. [App Store link] [Google Play link]…

Bowling Central combines the Wii Sports bowling experience with obstacles, and it's out soon on iOS

There are certainly a few bowling games on iOS but the trailer for Bowling Central poses the question: why aren't they more popular? Bowling Central mixes up the usual flicky bowling gameplay by allowing you to hook it up to your TV via AirPlay Mirroring and play it in almost exactly the same way as in Wii Sports. There are also obstacles to avoid, requiring you to time or curve the bowling bowl expertly in order to hit the pins at the end. Bowling Central will be available in the App Store on 15th January but in the meantime you can more than make do with the trailer below.…

Turn your phone into a skateboard with Gyro Skate, out now on iOS and Android

When I was but a wee lad, myself and the other kids would play with finger skateboards. These were miniature versions of actual skateboards that you - you guessed it - used your fingers to ride around with. Nowadays, the kids are using their phones for pretty much everything, so it makes sense for an app to be released to turn your mobile into a skateboard, right? Right?! It turns out Gyro Skate is actually a pretty cool app. You choose a trick based on a few different difficulties, then the app will show you a video of how exactly to flip or spin your phone to do the trick. You then have a go yourself, with the app using the gyroscope in your phone (just make sure yours has one) to…

Taichi Panda is an iOS action RPG featuring a massive panda, and it's out later this month

You know that feeling you get when you see something and instantly realise that it's been missing from your life? Well, apparently an overweight Tai Chi master panda beating up hordes of other bipedal animals in a beautiful Asian setting has been missing from mine. Taichi Panda is the game that gave me this realisation. It's an iOS action RPG due out later this month and it features two other playable characters: a barely dressed female treasure hunter named Lauren Catcher and an overly muscular fella named Lulandore. The panda Tai Chi master's name? Pan Da... but why don't we all ignore that terrible pun and check out the action-filled trailer below?…

Drive yourself crazy in the colourful and atmospheric buggy racer Stunt Rush, out now on Google Play

Stunt Rush is an arcade stunt racer in which you drive, jump, spin, and twist your way around a psychedellically coloured world of tagliatelle roads and blocky obstacles. It looks like what (I can only imagine) playing Mario Kart on hallucinogenic drugs would be like. It's certainly one of the best looking mobile racers we've seen, and is an Android exclusive right now which is a real rarity. I think it's fair to say that this is one of the more creative stunt racing games we've recently covered but don't take our word for it, check out the trailer below. [Google Play link]…

Grace of Letoile is now available on Android, and it's about time

Grace of Letoile is the tale of Vedley, and a pack of "automated dolls" called Letoiles who have the ability to control time. Vedley attempts to defeat these Letoiles and steal the Sertzes that lie at their cores, as doing so will grant him his one wish: to bring his parents back from the dead. Queue mystery, intrigue, and a whole lot of battling in this new JRPG from Kemco. Grace of Letoile is available now on the Google Play store, so take a look at the trailer below and then grab the game via the link under that if you feel like giving it a go. [Google Play link]…

Stop everything! You need to watch the karaoke trailer for Office Chair Zombie Attack

In Office Chair Zombie Attack you tilt and twist your device around to line up the crosshairs of your gun and blow zombies to smithereens. The game's presented in a cartoonish 3D, there are lots of enemies and weapons, and leaderboards to compare your shooting skills with your mates. Sounds fun! But the developer - A Small Game - really caught our eye with its 90s karaoke-themed trailer for the title. It's brilliant and silly and you have to watch it right now. Office Chair Zombie Attack comes to iPhone and iPad on the 25th of December.…

The maker of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and Brink unveils Tempo, a brand new game on iOS

If the official trailer from Splash Damage is anything to go by, Tempo looks set to be the Michael Bay movie that iOS gamers didn't realise they needed. From the minds behind Enemy Territory: Quake Wars and Brink, this sneak peek starts strong with some suited chump asking for a ridiculous one trillion pounds, or else he'll blow up the entirety of London. Cue cover based shooting, reflex-driven martial arts, and all the explosions a Mr. Bay uber fan might need. Tempo will come to iOS in January. We'll keep you updated when we hear more.…

Cooking Fever's latest update is a bit fishy, Android version coming Q1 2015

The first time you have sushi, almost without fail, you look like this. But then, after you've tasted its umami deliciousness, you inevitably wind up looking like this. Nordcurrent has just added some fish, rice, and nori delights to Cooking Fever, but this time there's a twist. The new update is a bit different to previous ones (such as the English Breakfast update) as it changes up the gameplay to better represent the creative process behind throwing together a bit of Maki. You need to select the right ingredients, roll said ingredients together, and ensure the finished product is stored correctly, before serving them to hungry customers. If you're an Android gamer then you'll also be…

Tiny Realms coming to Android early 2015, big updates for iOS players before Christmas

TinyMob has dropped us a line to say that if you happen to be an Android gamer you'll very soon have access to what I sincerely believe is one of the best strategy games of the year. Tiny Realms will come to Android devices "in the New Year", and you only need to see just how much coverage we've given it so far to know that you should be very excited about this fact if you happen to game with Google gubbins. We've also been told that those with the iOS version will receive "major new content" before 2014 is through. If you're waiting for the Android version (or you haven't yet downloaded the game for your iPhone or iPad), here's the brand new trailer for the Battlegrounds mode to get you…

Ambition announces surprising download figures for its English language dating games, plus MOE Can Change is now available in 3 new countries

Brilliantly bizarre dating sim Animal Boyfriend struck a chord with me earlier this year, and it seems to have struck a chord with some of you too. In conjunction with developer Ambition's other western release - MOE Can Change - its English language titles have now been downloaded an impressive 200,000 times. At the same time as we received news of this download milestone, Ambition also revealed to us that MOE Can Change has now been released in three new countries: Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore. So if you're in those territories and fancy teaching a lady robot how to love, fill your boots. And really, who doesn't? Here's the trailer... ... and here's how you can download MOE Can C…
