Sticko may get you out of a sticky situation this Christmas

Sticko is being pitched as essentially the solution to all of life's problems - so long as all your problems are to do with multi-tasking while using your mobile. It's a pair of suction cups that stick to your phone and just about any surface. Imagine you're trying to have a phone call while washing the dishes (which is normally a two handed job). Thwack a Sticko thingy on that phone of yours, set it at mouth level, and Bob's your uncle: you're talking to your nan while elbow deep in Fairy. Best Christmas present ever? No, not by a long shot. Neat novelty item to get a phone-obsessed co-worker for their Secret Santa gift? Damn right. You can grab a Sticko here.…

Tail Chase is from a UK grandma who saw her dog chasing his tail and thought 'now THAT'S a good idea for a video game'

Tail Chase is from a UK grandma who saw her dog chasing his tail and thought 'now THAT'S a good idea for a video game'

Dogs don't play video games. It's not because dogs can't play video games, it's that dogs simply don't need them. Why? Because they're never bored: they can always chase their tails, and as we all know that's probably the most fun thing ever. Since I'm not a dog, I don't have a tail, and consequently I'll never know such sweet relief from boredom as our canine chums. But a UK gran has thankfully stepped up and created the next best thing: a tail chasing simulator called Tail Chase. As if chasing your tail wasn't enough, the trailer for Tail Chase also promises Buzzy Bees, Manic Moles, and Bad Bunnies, so obviously you should immediately go and download it via our links below. Ionscape is a futuristic auto-roller, and it's out now on iOS and Google Play

Working Mill's new action game is called Ionscape, and it sees you bouncing between ceiling and floor, hoping to collect as many coins as possible without hitting any walls. If this sounds a bit tricky, it's because it is, but the controls are nice and simple: just tap to switch between roof and road. I really like the look of this thing, and that audio design doesn't seem too bad either! Ionscape is out now for iPhone, iPad, and Android. Here's the trailer. [App Store link][Google Play link]…

Game Workshop gives Chainsaw Warrior the sequel treatment in Lords of the Night

It's Friday, AppSpies, and do we have a treat for you. The adaptation of possibly the most testosterone-fuelled board game ever, Game Workshop's Chainsaw Warrior, is getting the sequel treatment. Chainsaw Warrior is a mobile and PC adaptation of the classic 1987 board game of the same name, with both generally involving you rolling dice to destroy zombies and other monsters in the most creatively brutal way possible. The sequel features an upgraded combat system, new weapons, upgrades, powers, and equipment, all of which can no doubt be used to duff up those poor hordes of hungry zombies. Speaking of the walking dead, there'll be a few new moudly mini-bosses to slay and three new…

Here's a sneak peek at upcoming EA Mobile racer Need for Speed No Limits

EA Mobile has announced that it's releasing a brand new mobile Need For Speed 'soon'. That means you can quite safely expect it to look great, play okay, and require much tilting of your respective devices as you drive at dangerous speeds in an urban environment. The game is, rather unsurprisingly, in development by Firemonkeys - famed for releasing one of the most expensive free games to hit a mobile device ever - Real Racing 3. If you're feeling the need for speed yourself, why not watch the ridiculous trailer in which Ken Block does what he does best - driving a car really, really fast.…

Sex Pistols rocker Johnny Rotten admits to blowing £10,000 on F2P iPad games

Feeling a little silly for spending so much of your hard-earned dosh on supposedly ‘free-to-play’ iPad games? Well allow us to assuage that feeling by bringing you the news that John Lydon, AKA Johnny Rotten, has supposedly spent a whopping £10,000 on IAPs in the last two years. The former Sex Pistols star and face of the Country Life adverts spoke to the Telegraph about his recent extravagance, and claimed that “(he) just wanted to up the ante”. “And like an idiot I didn't check myself. I've been checked now. But there's a kid in me, see? A bit of my childhood was taken from me and I'm determined to bring it back." Lydon can safely consider the ante up…

Leaked Game of Thrones - A Telltale Game Series screenshots show Cercei scowling obviously

Though some may be unsure how Telltale is planning to incorporate the violent, twitchy Borderlands universe into its slow, narrative-driven point-and-click template, we imagine few adventure game fans have any such fears about the studio's upcoming Game of Thrones game. Not only is the fantasy epic perfectly suited to the Telltale treatment, the first screenshots (which were leaked today) show that the art department has nailed the look of the HBO show, including likenesses of characters like Cercei and Tyrion Lannister. Check out the video above to see the leaked images.…

Seven Sacred Beasts crosses a monster battler with a hardcore JRPG, Kemco slashes price for its Android launch

Kemco's latest RPG Seven Sacred Beasts is out now on Android, and at half price - a tempting $3.99 - for its initial release. Seven Sacred Beasts looks like a monster-filled mash up of Pokemon and Final Fantasy, with lots of monsters to collect, level up, evolve, and battle, plus the usual JRPG melodramatics about dark knights and secret identities, all presented in a Super Nintendo era visual style. Sound good? Go grab it via the link below. [Google Play link]…

Tales from the Borderlands gets 'Welcome Back to Pandora (Again)' trailer

The AppSpy team was seriously wondering how the Borderlands universe would actually work as a point and click adventure, but from the brand new trailer for Telltale Games' Tales from the Borderlands, it looks like the answer could be "brilliantly". The trailer - titled 'Welcome Back to Pandora (Again)' - places the dark humour of the series front and centre, and while there are still no details of how the action scenes will work (we've been promised gun play), the sense of a grand adventure on a truly horrible planet is palpable. Tales from the Borderlands is coming to iOS (plus PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, and Xbox One) in the near future. We'll…

Gamistry's just popped over the teaser trailer for Munch Time 2, the sequel to its original action adventure starring a chameleon with one incredible tongue. You use this tongue to zip about the various areas, solving puzzles and thwacking baddies, and exploring this 2D open world - as you might do in any other Metroidvania. As with similar titles in the genre, there's an experience system and additional skills to learn in here that will help you explore further. Take a look at the trailer, embedded below.…

Agent, Run! trailer asks you to run, agent

Agent, Run! is an endless runner, but instead of focusing on your agent avoiding obstacles - such as shark-infested tanks, barricaded security doors, and walking robots of doom - instead you must disable these hazards with a flick of the screen. You take on the role of Agent Robert Robertson who is attempting to thwart Professor E. Vil, across a couple of different gameplay modes and four different areas (the first of which comes free), all the while completing missions set out by the game and attempting to climb to the top of the online leaderboards. Agent, Run! is out now on iOS and Android, you can get it via the links below. [App Store link][Google Play link]…
