Robot may be Found in the Middle of August

Lost Robot is in the words of its creator Benjamin Hald, "a mixture of arcade, action, and puzzle games". From the trailer we see we need to get the robot and his uni-motorcycle to the exit by manipulating objects in the level. Here's the trailer. Set for release sometime in mid-August, this looks like it could be fun.[LowLineLab Site]…

Friday News Wrap-Up 27 July 2012

As things begin to stabilize around the office, I find myself relaxed and glad I can finally take up the reins on the Friday News Wrap-Up once again. As you can imagine, we were in a tight-pickle last week, but I stand by my choice to provide the review that was much needed at the time. As such, we have a glut of great news for this week, but we've picked some of the juicier ones just for you. This is the Friday News Wrap-Up for the 27th of July, 2012. Armed Heroes MMO - An odd response to asset theft claimsLets kick off the week with good, old drama. Armed Heroes, an upcoming MMO for the iOS platform has been looking utterly amazing of late, with features that put it closer to the…

National Pride and a Piano Lesson

With the Olympic Games quickly approaching, Joytunes is releasing Piano Summer Games this week, which allows players from all over the world to compete via leaderboards on how well they can play their country's national anthem on piano. You can use either a real piano or the touch keys of the program itself. The trailer should shed some light on things. Looks like some fun if nothing else, and anything that encourages people to learn to play any form of music always gets a thumbs up from me!…

Knight K'west Slated for August Release

Apparently it's quite the quest to get knights across a moat. You control a paddle that bounces the valiant protectors of the realm across a chasm, collecting goodies and avoiding obstacles. It doesn't look like much, but we have been pleasantly surprised before, and it could be a fun time waster if nothing else, so look for this game out sometime in August.…

Abstract Racer 'Just Rush' Available July 23rd

When first watching the trailer for Just Rush, it looks kitchy with its penguin on the menu screen. Then it looks shoddy as the globe is spinning through the different seasons. Once the actual gameplay starts though... well it grabbed my attention. It comes off as Sonic the Hedgehog in an abstract cel shaded visual style, using both tilting the iPhone and touching the screen to control. Have a look for yourselves. The game is due out on Monday, July 23rd.…

Gamevil's Arel Wars 2 Slated for Release Sometime in the Next Month

Arel Wars 2 is the sequel to Gamevil's original entry into the head-to-head castle defense genre. From the trailer we can see that the game contains their usual high visual and audio presentation, along with lots of upgrading, different units, and a continuation of the kingdom of Drusilla. It looks like a lot of fun. Gamevil's games can be pretty grind heavy though so we'll have to see if their upgrading mechanics have decent progression, or failing that, that the battle system is fun enough to hold our interest. No release date has been confirmed, but it should be out before the end of August.…

Follow the Rabbit Hits the App Store This Week

The latest by Gamega and Armor Games, this puzzle game of chase and block pushing doesn't look like much on the surface from the visuals, but keep watching the trailer. As you get an idea of how the game is played, and what's in store throughout the levels, your interest might pick up a little bit. Mine sure did. This could be quite the fun little puzzle game. We'll know for sure when it hits the App Store on Thursday the 19th.…

Puzzle Adventure game Unmechanical Looks Promising

Slated to release sometime around the mid to end of August, Unmechanical looks like a game to keep your eyes on. Have a look at the trailer. Kind of having a Machinarium vibe, there's lots of puzzles to solve and an atmospheric world to explore. If the controls work out well, this looks like it could be a winner.…

What is the sequel to Great Litle War Game called you might ask? Why Great Big War Game of course! This turn based strategy game is out on July 18th for the price of $2.99. It features asyncronous combat for online multiplayer across platforms with over seventy maps, and the main campaign has fifty missions. Synesthetic: Audiosurf + Boost

Audiosurf is one of my favourite games on PC. Over the years countless hours have been put into riding music along with trippy visuals. Since then more than a couple games have tried to become the Audiosurf of the mobile gaming platform, but at least in my opinion, they have fallen short. Cue Synesthetic, a game that will be released July 19th, that from the trailer combines Audiosurf with Boost. Have a look yourself. I guess we'll know how it stacks up when the game releases further on in the month.…

Tiny Wings 2.0 Has Arrived!

Tiny Wings 2 has finally dropped on to the App Store. Aside from the very clever teaser trailer, we can say that the 2.0 update is free for those who own the original and that it's gonna be annoyingly addictive! Better still, if you happen to own an iPad, grab the new HD version to take advantage of all that screen space. iCloud is enabled for keeping progress between iPhone and iPad devices. Our review of the updated and iPad versions will be up later in the day, so keep an eye out for it! [Tiny Wings HD iTunes]…
