Fans of Horror Games Have a Release to look Forward to this Week

Some of the scariest games are those where you have no weapons, and have to survive by your wits against whatever creepy creature of darkness is trying to do you in. Now personally I can't play any game with horror elements as it affects me too greatly, but for those that enjoy a good spook, The Woods is released on December 7th. Have a look at the trailer. Unfortunetely those with an older iPhone than the iPhone 4 are out of luck, but as a horror experience, it looks plenty atmospheric, and should be a blast... if you like that sort of thing.…

Metal Gear Solid Social Ops hits Japanese App Store

Konami and Gree's Metal Gear Solid Social Ops has snuck onto the Japanese App Store, bringing with it plenty of card based stealthy espionage action. As you'd expect from Gree, the game is a tactical card battler that takes situations and characters from the Metal Gear universe and pits them against one another. You need to build up your deck of heroes in order to take down enemies that range from single soldiers to multiple bipedal tanks. All in a day's work really. There's no word yet on when or if the game will get a worldwide release, but with the popularity of the Metal Gear series worldwide, and the pick up and play nature of card battlers, we can't imagine why it won't come out els…

Nanomites

Ok, so it's not the first use of this mechanic, and it won't be the last, but i think using touch gestures to fence off these creatures is pretty neat. It's similar to the game Qix, but you get to separate expressive nano creatures. Take a look at the trailer. The game is being released on December 12th.…

Modern Combat 4 arrives on Thursday

The next installment in Gameloft's Call of Duty inspired Modern Combat series, subtitled Zero Hour, will be dramatically blasting its way onto the App Store on Thursday. Android gamers will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the game, with Gameloft stating that the game should be available "shortly after" on the Google powered devices. Although Gameloft's track record on Android ports means not holding your breath for it is advisable. There's no word on a specific price yet, but Gameloft has revealed that the game will be a premium release, so something around $4.99 shouldn't be too far off the mark. With a strong single player campaign, new multiplayer modes, and some of…

Angry Birds Seasons gets advent calendar updates

Rovio has released a new update to Angry Birds Seasons that adds a wintry theme to the bird flinging, physics based destruction puzzler. There are twenty five new levels that unlock every day from now until Christmas, as well as three secret levels that apparently offer specil wintry treats. The new update also introduces the ice element, which you can expect to be both slippy and slidy, and add all sorts of new mayhem to the already pretty madcap game. The update, which pushes the game up to version 3.10, is available from the App Store right now for free. So if you fancy some Christmas themed bird on pig action, we'd suggest grabbing it as soon as possible.…

Zenonia 5 hits Android

Gamevil has released the next installment of its action RPG series, Zenonia, onto the Google Play Store. And that means that an iOS version shouldn't be too far behind. Subtitled Wheel of Destiny, the game is set long after the events of the fourth title in the series, and sees the world being overrun with monsters yet again. Cue some Zelda inspired top-down hacking and slashing as you try and restore order to once peaceful lands by killing everything that looks a bit like it might be about to do something bad. By the looks of the trailer, which you can check out for yourself below, it also looks like Gamevil has squashed a card battler into the game as well. Throw in PvP, four new classe…

Heroes of Order & Chaos delayed for Android

Heroes of Order & Chaos delayed for Android

We weren't that enamoured with Gameloft's MOBA Heroes of Order & Chaos. It had some nice ideas, but they got a bit lost under connectivity issues, which just isn't good enough for an online only game. However, Android gamers haven't even had a chance to find out about the stability issues, because despite Gameloft promising a simultaneous release, the game is still conspicuous in its absence from the Google Play Store. This is because Gameloft is tinkering with some server issues they've discovered with the Android version. So hopefully Android players should have a far more stable experience when it does release than iOS players have been suffering. So if you're waiting with baited b…
