Oh hi there Wednesday. I'm super confused and I'm still pretty sure it's Tuesday. But then, yesterday was Tuesday, and I don't think days can keep going for more than one day. Like, the clue is literally in the name. If you think about it.

Whatever day I think it is doesn't really matter though. Because officially it's Wednesday, and officially Wednesday is when we round up the best games that are on sale on the App Store. And there are some real gems going cheap this week.

As usual you can click on the emboldened names of the games below to swoosh on over to the App Store and grab them. And if you think we've missed anything out, feel free to shout at us in the comments. Or just tweet or FB us. Send a Snapchat? I don't know what people do nowadays to tell each other things.

Miss Fisher and the Deathly Maze - Free

It might be based on a TV show, but don't let that put you off. This is a smart mixture of a visual novel and a puzzler. You're solving crimes, finding clues, and dealing with suspects in some really interesting ways. Plus the second episode has just been added, so you're essentially getting two games for nowt.

Tiny Space Adventure - 99p / 99c

A point and click adventure that isn't the taxing experience that some might expect of the genre. As you can probably tell from the title, it's delivered in screen-sized puzzles. Oh, and it's set in space. Slickly put together and a lot of fun, for 99p you really can't turn your nose up at this one.

Sunless Sea - £6.99 / $6.99

Okay, that might not sound like that much of a sale, but since the game is usually ten bucks, you're saving yourself a few pretty pennies with this one all the same. It's a strange sort of roguelike that sees you floating around in a submarine. And then dying a horrible death. And then doing it all over again. It's much better than that sounds though. Like, way better.

Beholder - £1.99 / $1.99

A game about running an apartment block. That doesn't sound like much fun does it? Well how about this - you're actually spying on the inhabitants for a totalitarian state. You need to bug their flats, search through their belongings, and report any wrong doing. Then of course there's the twist. Spying is your job, but are you going to do what you're told or protect the people in your building?

Device 6 - 99p / 99c

One of, if not the best text-based adventure you can buy on the App Store. It's a game that's going to fundamentally change the way you think about the experience of play on your phone or tablet. Smart, subversive, and typifying a dev at the very height of its powers. Seriously, if you've not played this yet then get it got right this second.
