The first Evoland revolved an interesting premise, an RPG that jumped between gameplay style and formats. Evoland 2 returns to that concept but expands upon on it by adding more genres and more varied gameplay shifts, all framed within a story of time travel and saving the world.

Starting with a classic GBA aesthetic and old-school RPG design, Evoland 2 grows more sophisticated with each loop through time, progressing from 2D pixel art overworlds and Suikoden-style sprites to 3D characters, dungeons, and environments. While the first game explored the history of RPGs, the sequels leaps between genres alongside its focus on being a humor RPG adventure, containing side-scrolling platforming, bullet hell shoot-em-up action, and even one-on-one combo-heavy fighting.

Promising over a dozen hours of genre-shifting gameplay, secrets, and an array of aesthetics and styles, Evoland 2 is currently available on the App Store for $6.99 (a 10% off launch scale).
