100,000 Likes On Facebook = RAGE HD Free For A Week

By , on August 8, 2011

And there we were thinking that French publisher Gameloft is the only studio that relishes giving something back to its loyal fandom.

How wrong we could be.

Over on id Software's RAGE Facebook page, the creators of pioneering first-person shooters Doom and Quake have teamed up with RAGE HD's developer on iPhone Bethesda to run a fascinating promotion.

Once this particular page has been 'Liked' 100,000 times on Zuckerberg's social network, RAGE HD will be made available for free for one week.

At the time of going to press, 48,031 folks have officially declared themselves interested in this freebie deal - thus, there's still some way to go before we pass the RAGE HD threshold.

As for RAGE HD itself, well, it's an intense on-rails shooter featuring some of the most gloriously rendered visuals on an iOS device to date.

It's been in the news for other reasons, too, by the way...

Firstly, the latest 'Uprising' trailer for the eagerly anticipated console blast-'em-up was distributed to online outlets mere hours ago.

Secondly, and more importantly for AppSpy readers, an analog thumbstick has been added as a control option in RAGE HD - much, perhaps, to our Andrew's delight - in a recent update.
