Smartglass, Microsoft's attempt to bring second screen functionality to the Xbox 360 has finally landed on the App Store, a couple of weeks after it made it to Android devices.

While it may have taken a while. it looks like the iOS version of the app brings with it everything that makes the Android one so interesting.

Not only can you play around with your avatar, you can hook your device up to your console and have it fed information about the compatible game you're playing or the movie you're watching.

It's certainly an interesting idea, and while there's not much cross-content available at the moment, but hopefully more intuitive and innovative uses for the app will spring forth in due course.
