Tekken Finally Hits the iPhone, But Not the Tekken You Expect

By , on July 26, 2011

The long-running beat-'em-up franchise Tekken has finally landed on iPhone, but if you've been waiting for a good old-fashioned bruiser, well, hold your horses, pal, because you're still waiting.

As you've probably guessed by now, Tekken Bowl ain't your typical Tekken.

There are no fisticuffs to be had here at all, because - and the clue is in the name - you'll actually be playing a tribute to an old bowling mini-game in Tekken Tag Tournament.

You have 3 unique characters to choose from, as well as two bowling game modes to play through - including a physics-based Puzzle mode.

Game Center support for achievements and leaderboards roll in to round off the package. So, while this isn't the Tekken game you've been looking for, it may still strike a chord of nostalgia if you're an old Tekken fan.

Oh, and you can play as a panda. Seriously.

Tekken Bowl is out now on the App Store, and it's free. Don't you feel a bit Tekken for granted, though. Hmmm.
