Game Dev Story and Hot Springs Story On Sale

By , on May 4, 2011

Two months after becoming addicted to – sorry, reviewing – Hot Springs Story, Andrew has finally recovered and got his own time management house in order.

Which is, of course, great news for loyal readers of AppSpy, accustomed to his sharp insights and entertaining prose.

The announcement by Japanese developer Kairosoft (makers of aforementioned Hot Springs Story) that they’re hosting an impromptu iPhone garage sale should also serve as a major boon to gamers worldwide.

What this means is that you can now pick up the software development sim Game Dev Story for a paltry 99c and its sauna-focused sibling Hot Springs Story for only $1.99.

Both of these engrossing time and assets-management affairs are worth snaffling up at full price, but at these knockdown prices, you’d be a fool for ignoring ‘em.

As for the future, well, Kairosoft are brewing up a pair of follow-ups in their simulation cauldron entitled School of Pocket and The Game Dealer.

Andrew has provisionally booked himself into Kairosoft Anonymous...I might have to join him.

I've heard that there will be a sequel to Game Dev Story. Is that ture?

Yes, that's true. In an interview with TouchArcade, Kairosoft revealed the following: "We will be developing a sequel, but we are not planning on releasing it soon. We are thinking of improving the game by adding elements of networking in the sequel, such as sales score rankings and sending employees to a friend’s company, etc."

And to add to that, Kairosoft recently released their school management (?) title on the JP iTunes - with luck we may see a translation of that as well as it looks like an interesting variation of the Hot Springs gameplay :)
