Subatomic Studios has updated the really rather brilliant Fieldrunners 2 just in time for Halloween, adding in a new Jack O'Lantern tower that spews out powerful gouts of fire.

Called the BOOM-kin tower, the spooky new weapon in your arsenal isn't the only new addition to the game. There have been some quite extensive tweaks to the game too to increase loading time and optimise performance.

As well as the behind the scenes stuff, the game now features iCloud saves, so you can play on one iOS device, and pick up where you left off on another, even crossing your saves between the iPad and IPhone versions.

The updated version of the app should be in the App Store right about now, and if you've never jumped into to Fieldrunners's world of tower defence, now would be the perfect time.
