A 'lite' version of Touch Dimension's arty RTS Autumn Dynasty is now available for free on the App Store.

The developer's quirky take on the strategy genre first made waves back in 2009 when it reached the finals of the IGF China Student competition.

Thanks to the game's unique combination of classic large-scale battles, gorgeous Okami-esque visuals, and unusual brush-based interface, it proceed to capture the attention of iOS strategy fans everywhere.

Now, you can try out the opening two stages of Autumn Dynasty without spending a penny, simply by downloading the Autumn Dynasty Lite app.

In addition to conquering these single-player levels, you'll also get to try out the game's Bluetooth mulitplayer mode.

Interestingly, Touch Dimension is planning to drip feed content to players based on the app's download figures. If the app hits 31,337 downloads, for example, an extra difficulty level will be unlocked.
