The original Ace Patrol is a bit of a strange beast. In our review we were intrigued by a turn based approach to air combat, but the whole experience felt a little too disjointed.

Well the sequel, Ace Patrol: Pacific Skies, is on its way sometime this fall (for those in the northern hemisphere), and will be tackling the battle between the US and Japanese that took place over the Pacific during World War II.

The series has a host of fans, who will no doubt be gleefully anticipating this release. It's also be interesting to see what game changes have been made to the turn based dogfighting.

Unlike its predecessor, Pacific Skies will be offered at a premium price point, with all the content immediately available to those who purchase it. We'll let you know when a specific release date is on the horizon. In the meantime, you can watch this amusing little PSA that Firaxis Games has released.
