Ratchet & Clank headed to mobile

The latest installment in the Ratchet & Clank series Into the Nexus is set to launch on Playstation 3 this November 12th. Alongside that, however, Ratchet & Clank-themed endless-runner Before the Nexus will be coming to mobile.

The game will link up with its PS3 counterpart, and Raritanium you earn in the mobile game will allow you to unlock more weapons in the console game.

We're seeing a huge ramp-up in companion apps which tie directly into major console releases. Games like Watch Dogs, and Battlefield 4 all have mobile apps which let directly influence the full game from your iOS handset. I suspect we're only going to see more of this as we move forward. But, if the mobile apps are engaging enough, I can't see a problem with that.

We'll see how Before the Nexus fares when it arrives on the App Store later this month.

Uuuuugh.... Not another endless runner.... I'm sick of endless runners... ;-;

Our devices are capable of SO MUCH MORE, and they're being completely undermined by simplistic games..

These guys seriously couldn't have ported over the original Ratchet & Clank game instead? Or maybe created a pure R&C experience made exclusively for mobile iDevices?
