The Walking Dead developer Telltale Games has revealed that it is creating an episodic Game of Thrones series for console, PC, and mobile.

Though rumours of a Game of Thrones game have been floating around the internet for a couple of weeks, it wasn't until this weekend's VGX Awards show that we saw the proof.

Here is that proof:

As you can see, the trailer is designed to set the mood and tone of the forthcoming series. As this is an official collaboration with HBO, we're treated to the Game of Thrones opening theme tune, complete with promises of a 2014 release date.

This announcement comes shortly after the iOS release of The Wolf Among Us, Telltale's comic book-based follow-up to its multi-award-winning series The Walking Dead.

At present, we don't know where these interactive Game of Thrones episodes will sit in relation to George R. R. Martin's ongoing fantasy saga. However, we'll be sure to let you know as soon as the dragons arrive with further news.
