Look out, Star Wars fans, your prayers have been answered. Yes, that's right: You're getting another free Star Wars-themed card battler. 

In this one you'll be building your own 'assault team' out of your favourite Star Wars characters. You can join up with Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Boba Fett, each of whom have their own stats, abilities, and unique attacks.

Once you've got your squad together, you do what an assault team does best: assault things. You'll engage in combat with recognisable enemies from the franchise, and be rewarded you with loot and entirely new characters.

Once you're feeling confident, you can try your hand out against other players in  PvP mode. As with normal battles, you can still earn that all-important loot from taking on other players -  provided you win, that is.

Surprisingly, the game has an actual narrative. It's set between the events of Episode IV and V, and will see you travelling to Star Wars planets such as Tatooine and Kashyyyk, completing missions and the like.

I got this immediately when I saw it, but so far I'm somewhat unimpressed... It's a bit of a step up from Force Collection, but it lacks content and variety. ;-; All of your available units (that I've played so far) are all Rebels, indigenous creatures, and machines-- no option to go to the dark side of the force.

There's also an off-put of difficulty. No matter how much I've upgraded my Han Solo, he dies rather quickly (as do all of my units-- regardless of their level). Plus, the enemies you face seem to primarily target your strongest unit (and since upgrading takes a bit of time per unit, I have one unit stronger than the others (Han) it sucks), which means that you're practically a sitting duck once they're gone. The upgrades to units themselves aren't all that impacting unless you mass-upgrade in level increments of 5 or more. From what I've seen, every levels gives (roughly) +3 attack and +2 health (give or take 2 for each, depending on the unit).

I also dislike three other things: 1) The missions length ; 2) Loading times ; 3) "Low memory".

1) Missions only take about four to six minutes. They're ridiculously short.

2) For as basic as the graphics are and as small as the maps are, loading screens shouldn't even appear-- given today's iOS software and hardware capabilities. Loading screens that do appear take anywhere from 15 seconds to 45 seconds. There was one time where the loading took two minutes, but I restarted the app at that point.

3) I have frequently received a "This app may crash without warning because of low memory", even when I have no other apps open at all. Again, with as basic as the graphics are and how simply the game works, this shouldn't be happening (and definitely not on an iPad 2).

I do complain about the energy system, too, but I guess I can overlook it since the timer is only 4 minutes per charge. But, at that rate, why have a timer at all?


It's got some great authenticities to it, though (ie. Sound effects, character models, environments, etc...).

Were I to rate it, as is right now and with as much as I've played in the last few hours, I give it 3/5. It's disappointing, but still kinda fun (Plus, it's Star Wars).

Been doing a ton of grinding so far, and still am unable to progress to completing either all the Epic-level stages of each level, or first level of the second area.


I'm getting closer and closer to just deleting it. I like a bit of grinding and whatever, but having done so for a day and-a-half and still being unable to progress further is irritating even to me. The only reason I'd want to spend days on end with grinding is if I've already beaten the game and want to get so OP (if possible) that getting the secrets/unlockables/achievements becomes easy as hell.

With this game, it's been two days and I've made minimal progress, despite having promoted my Han Solo twice (up to Rank 3) and upgrading my other Rank-2 units substantially (from level 2 to level 9 - 13 each). The problem and reason to why I'm stuck (so to say) is the difficulty curve from the first area to the second, and even with the Special Missions.

Literally, one of the Bronze (lowest level) Special Missions was okay until the last battle, when the game decided it'd be a fantastic idea to pit a Rank-4 Probe Droid against me (248 Attack / 481 HP ). A BRONZE LEVEL MISSION.

It's just.... Mejtdaufsntgsthhst... Frustrating at times. And yet, I'm stuck grinding-- lest I use my remaining money on my iTunes account to purchase gems.
