Warballoon’s enterprising take on the roguelike genre, Star Command, has just had its price cut on the App Store.

Star Command wears its sci-fi influences on its sleeve. You must take control of a starship as it explores the galaxy, helping those in need and battling any blood thirsty speicies you encounter.

As you upgrade your ship new abilities and crew are unlocked, all conveniently colour coded in true Star Trek fashion.

As you meet hostile species you will find yourself battling them both inside and outside the ship. You will have to repel invaders utilising all kinds of devious tactics, while trying to build enough power for your lasers blast their ship from the sky.

Though we found the controls a little fiddly on smaller screens, we were still impressed by its challenging roguelike gameplay. Reminiscent of similar space based exploration game FTL, Star Command will give you plenty of reason to keep exploring the galaxy as you seek out new life and new civilisations, boldly going where no one has gone before.

You can beam Star Command up from the App Store now for the reduced price of £1.49 / $1.99.

Hopefully this means a new episode/mission is on the horizon.

I'll hope, but I'm not exactly crossing my fingers.

Meh. The game would be worth the download/buy if were far more complete than it currently is.

Djrella659, I agree. And it's more obvious now with FTL on the ipad.
