Colords is a fantasy-themed arcade puzzle game, out this October

Coming to iOS this October, Colords is a combination of a cute 3D fantasy aesthetic, that looks to play a bit like arcade-y puzzlers such as Threes!. The developer - MassiveFun3D - has confirmed that it will be free-to-play, and will see you trying to climb the leaderboards in search of the highest possible scores. Here's the trailer.…

Johnny Scraps: Clash of Dimensions sees a pig beat the undead heck out of some evil skeletons

I'll bet that when you woke up this morning, you didn't think to yourself "I reckon today is the day I watch a very aggressive time-travelling pig smack the snot out of some prehistoric skeletons". But if you click play on the trailer below, that's exactly what you'll see. Johnny Scraps: Clash of Dimensions is available on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone, and appears to be a hyperactive arena brawler with loads of levels, tons of enemies, and 10 game modes to conquer. Surviving in Minecraft: Pocket Edition, Episode 6 - Bone Talk

This week I decided to take our Surviving in Minecraft: Pocket Edition series to the Twitch stream. There were a couple of reasons for doing so. First, it meant that I could play the game for ages and make some real progress. Second, the community was on hand to answer any questions I might have, in the live chat window. Third, I just kinda fancied playing a bit of Minecraft, as I'm really getting into it at the moment. Also: Enderman.…

AppSpy nominated for a Games Media Award, offices now covered in bunting, confetti, cake

In a break from our regularly scheduled programming of awesome new trailers, hands-on impressions with unreleased mobile games, reviews of the hottest new titles, and generally faffing about on Twitch, today I've got some great news about AppSpy that I'd like to share with you. We've been nominated for an award! Huzzah! To be precise, it's a Games Media Award, which are kind of like the Oscars for journalists and other people who make editorial content about video games. AppSpy is nominated for Best Video outlet, and we're all super thrilled. James has taken his shirt off already, Danny's downing his Ultraman booze to celebrate, and I've reached out to Grazia to see if they want an inter…

@WeAreVigilantes shares new Imps in Tokyo video, I'm officially #intrigued

There's a lot of social media stuff going on in the new Imps in Tokyo trailer. Each of the monsters in the game is referred to as @Harvey, @Hester, @Louis, and so on, and each has their own hashtag to sum up their personality - @mrcornelious is #evil, apparently. The game itself looks to be an arcade-focused dodging and shooting game, with a rather wonderful cartoon look to proceedings. Imps in Tokyo is coming to iOS, and I must say that I'm kind of jazzed to see how it turns out. Sorry... #jazzed.…

Depth Hunter 2: Deep Dive could be the diving game we've been craving since Scuba Diver Adventures

Depth Hunter 2: Deep Dive could be the diving game we've been craving since Scuba Diver Adventures

Quick bit of backstory on this: Scuba Diver Adventures was an absolutely beautiful underwater escapade made by Biart that was almost ruined by heinous free-to-play shenanigans. Depth Hunter 2: Deep Dive appears to be the same sort of deal, made by the same people, only this time they're going premium. Consequently I'm extremely keen to get my hands on this one. Spearfishing, free diving, and underwater photography are all promised, across 25 missions and 3 locations. Depth Hunter 2: Deep Dive is out now on iOS priced $4.99 / £2.99 [App Store link]…

There's a new video out, and it's set our minds racing as to what this strange broadcast might be about. Who is "she", why is he trying to find her, and how has he not found this mystery woman after all these years? Watch this trailer, then pop your theories in the comments. Cheers for the heads up, Pocket Gamer.…

Hands-on with Air Race Speed, the fast but twitchy futuristic racer

There are two things that a racing game needs in order to win me over. First is a sense of speed, and preferably a lot of it. Air Race Speed totally nails this element, as even with the slower ships you still feel like you're travelling incredibly fast. Second is a control setup that is responsive and accurate. This is where Air Race Speed stumbles a little, with its spotty touch and tilt controls. It's an interesting game concept though, and I think it'll find an audience. If you think that might be you, click play on the video below to find out for sure.…

James, Harry, and I are back for another episode of our Let's Play of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for iOS. Here they take on The Shadow in the Mountains, The Mountain Roughrider, and Attack of the Giant Bugs. There's also plenty of talk about the Dreamcast, because obviously, and Harry is really bitter about it, because obviously. Missed an episode and need to catch up? Here's what came before.…

Learn how to play Monster Hunter Freedom Unite with AppSpy - Part 10

James, Harry, and I take on the Giadrome, fight the Khezu, and kill Velocidrome in this episode of our ongoing Let's Play series on Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. As well as our legendary scrap with the Shadow in the Mountains, there's talk of James' Tumblr documenting how many monkeys he's murdered, Harry's opinion on “lady ball sacks”, and Resident Evil chat aplenty. Oh and claws. Lots of claws. Fancy catching up with the rest of the series? Here's what came before.…

EGX 2014: Hands-on with Haunt the House: Terrortown, the horrifyingly fun puzzler

AppSpy and Pocket Gamer are in full force at Eurogamer Expo 2014, and we've especially been checking out the big 'ole indie section. Within this little cave of indie gaming dreams our Mark found Haunt the House: Terrortown, a puzzle game from the SFB Games peeps that made Detective Grimoire. And here he is to show you what it's like.…
