Slowmo headshots, suicide bombers, exploding barrels, gun-porn: this Kill Shot trailer has it all

The headline says it all really: the new video for Kill Shot has just about everything you need in a trailer for a free-to-play first person shooter that's big and explosive and completely over-the-top in its depiction of armed combat. Most of Kill Shot seems to revolve around being a sniper (although other weapons are available), and carefully lining up your sights to terminate targets with extreme prejudice. There are slowmo replays when you off someone in an especially epic way, and with the Watch and Share feature you can share the gruesome replay with your mates. It's out now, go grab it. Pumped BMX 2 has me pumped, and will get you pumped once you watch this video of Pumped BMX 2

Pumped BMX 2 has me pumped, and will get you pumped once you watch this video of Pumped BMX 2

There's a trailer for Pumped BMX 2 out, and it has me frothing at the mouth in anticipation. I adore games like Touchgrind Skate 2, True Skate, and so on, and Pumped BMX 2 looks like a bike-themed take on those games, but in 2.5D. There's a flexible control scheme and a realistic physics engine in place that allows you to do loads of different tricks, 50 levels with 500 challenges, plus achievements and leaderboards. Oh, and you can record replays to show off to mates. The game's out on the App Store tomorrow. Get pumped.…

Hands-on with Anomaly Defenders, the reverse reverse tower defence game

There's a lot of love for the Anomaly series here at AppSpy, with our James being particularly enamoured by Anomaly 2. So I naturally jumped at the chance to go hands-on with the latest entry in the series, Anomaly Defenders, which turns the reverse tower defence concept on its head. What I found during my quick look at Anomaly Defenders was a clearly very deep tower defence game with some very pretty visuals. Take a look.…

Underworld: Drug Lords trailer is all about the narcotics, AKs, and the opening sequence of Eastenders

Drugs are bad, mmmkay? But dealing drugs is worse. If for some reason you do have the urge to peddle highly addictive, life-destroying, terrorism-funding contraband then Underworld: Drug Lords will let you do that in the comfort and safety of your middle-class suburban home. The trailer for the game may be all about glorifying a pretty reprehensible crime to a funky soundtrack, but it also has a bit 24 seconds in that looks a heck of a lot like the opening of Eastenders. Underworld: Drug Lords is free-to-play, and out now on Android. [Google Play link]  …

KNeoWORLD Arcade will test your MeNTal dexTERiTy, here's the tRAiler

KNeoWORLD Arcade's title may seem to have its capitalisation all over the place, but let's not hold that against it, because it also looks like a solid edutainment title in the form of Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training or Lumosity. The mobile game features 30 minigames created by educators and scientists that are designed to improve your skills in mathematics, spatial awareness, logic, reasoning, and so on. It's suitable for all ages, and also includes those all-important leaderboards and achievements to brag to your mates about how much smarter than them you're becoming. $4.99 / £2.99 is the asking price, and there are no ads or IAPs once you've paid your entry fee. Air Supply SOS looks just about as batty as an actual ZX Spectrum game, trailer sports 'rubber pleasures'

Air Supply SOS looks just about as batty as an actual ZX Spectrum game, trailer sports 'rubber pleasures'

Described as an "homage to Jetpac from the old ZX Spectrum days", Air Supply SOS features arcade-oriented action, plenty to see and collect, and the visuals and music are vintage Speccy. Low-res shapes, bizarre mash-ups, basic colours, and pop culture references: this is the real deal, and the music sounds wonderfully authentic, due to being made on an actual ZX Spectrum. The game's out tomorrow (25th September) on iOS. Here's the trailer. I'm hyped.…

Hands-on with Tony Hawk's Shred Session, the free-to-play auto-skater featuring The Birdman

Everybody's favourite skateboarding superstar is back in a brand new mobile game. Which is of course, very exciting, until you realise that it's probably not quite the game you've been looking for. You see, Tony Hawk's Shred Session is an endless skater, rather than an open world action game. It's still a decent stab at the genre though, so click play on the video below to see it in all its tubular glory.…

Surviving in Minecraft: Pocket Edition, Episode 5 - Bone Talk

Though it seems like there isn't a lot going on in this episode, there actually totally is. First, I realise that I'm in dire need of a bone, and begin trying out ways of finding one. Second, I begin clearing the shade away from my little home as a safety precaution against bad dudes. Third, I dig further into the mine and have a minor spelunking accident. Also: major cuteness!…

Hands-on with Fist of Fury, the game full of kapow, thwock, and crunch

After having found inner peace, and trained my body to the heights of human perfection, I decided to take on the challenge of Fist of Fury. This endless action game asks you to swipe in the direction you wish to strike to defend yourself from opponents. It's fun, and the pixel art style really makes it pop visually. Here's my quick look at the game.…

Hands-on with The Drive - Devil's Run, the brand new old school racer

With genetic links to Test Drive and the original Need for Speed games, The Drive - Devil's Run had me interested the moment I knew it existed. I went hands-on with an early-ish build of the game, and as you can probably tell from the video, I think it's already bang on the money as a loving homage to classic 3D racers from the 3DO and PSX days. Sporting great music, awesome comic book visuals, and a steep difficulty curve, racing fans should keep The Drive - Devil's Run firmly in their headlights.…

These 8 bone crunching Stair Dismount videos made me do a sick in my mouth

If you've decided to visit your pals at AppSpy today while enjoying a delicious meal, put the fork down for a moment, or scoff it down real quick. Because with these Stair Dismount videos - nicked off of that Everyplay - bones are crunched, limbs are twisted, and in one particularly nasty video a body is completely torn apart. It's kind of gross, and I'm not really sure AppSpy should be showing you this stuff but I'm going to do it anyway because I'm a rebel. I'll say this though: I made the mistake of gobbling down a banana while looking for these clips, and I'm not ashamed to admit that a little bit of it came back up in the process. I sure hope that's mud. Getting the boot. Meh…
