Frozen Synapse is one of the more innovative turn based strategy titles to come along in recent years. It's a good example of the player dictating their own level of involvement. You have a collection of units that you can assign a string of iterative orders to, and you can test out how these orders will play before confirming. Even more down the rabbit hole, you can assign the visable enemy units orders based on how you think they might react to your movements, or what your foe might be doing on their turn. Star Command finally arriving on iOS
It's been a long and bumpy road for Star Command, but after two Kickstarter campaigns, $200,000 of crowd funded cash, and a year of slipping release dates, the game is finally set to hit the App Store on the May 2nd. The game puts you in control of your own space ship, letting you build it as you see fit, and populating it with a diverse cast of characters. Once you're jetting about the galaxy you'll encouner diverse alien races and get in laser battles with them, The game's going to hit the App Store for $1.99 and it'll be a universal app, which is quite fitting for a game that's about exploring the cosmos. Dark Avenger gets a dark trailer
Do you want to be a dark avenger? Do you even know what a dark avenger is? Well, by the looks of the first trailer for Gamevil and Boolean Games's upcoming iOS game, it involves a massive amount of murder, flashing numbers, and picking stuff up. The game appears to be a pretty standard dungeon crawling hack and slasher with expansive character customisation options, lots of loot to find, and screen-fulls of enemies to reduce to quivering wrecks with your sword swinging antics. Rift Hunter boasts the combination of classic beat 'em ups like Golden Axe and Final Fight with MMO style community mechanics.
